I've just noticed that the record number of users on this board at any one time ( in its current guise) is 498. This happened on the 24th February 2010 at 23.35

So? What's that got to do with owt? Well it just so happens that it was in the aftermath of a 3-1 defeat to Stoke in last seasons' FA Cup replay.

How ironic that within 15 months, we would be playing the same team in the FA Cup Final, finally getting our hands on some elusive silverware. I think if you had asked any one of those users online that night, most of who were appalled by our performance (including me), if they could see an end in sight to the drought, they would've been hard pressed to give a positive answer.

I guess the point of all this is to emphasize how far we have come in such a short space of time. YES we expected success the minute the Sheikh bought our club. YES we've been let down in more matches than we would have wished over the last couple of seasons but within the last week we've just unlocked the door to, fingers crossed, years of success

I hoped for this 15 months ago but I still didn't see it happening anytime soon. After all, we're City, we always cock up. Except we don't anymore. FA Cup winners and Champions League Qualifiers. I AM SO PROUD
