I just had to be here... Tevez performs dramatic U-turn to appear at City's historic FA Cup parade

Carlos Tevez handed Manchester City fans a huge boost this evening by arriving with his team-mates to celebrate at the club's historic FA Cup victory parade.

City officials feared Tevez had booked a flight home to Argentina and would miss the event and so informed their talismanic striker he had to attend or face a heavy fine.

But ahead of the city-centre bash, Tevez dismissed claims he was considering flying back to South America.

Speaking exclusively to Sportsmail, he said: 'In my mind, there was never a question as to whether I would be there. I'm sure it will be a fantastic event.

'It will be a great day for Sheikh Mansoor, who has given so much to the club - but also for the fans who have waiting so long and so patiently as well as the players who have given their all to make this possible.

'No one had to persuade me because I simply wouldnt have missed this event.'

Only one senior player was believed to be missing from the event, Italian striker Mario Balotelli is expected to be absent from the parade which travels from Albert Square to the City of Manchester stadium.

I read on twitter not only is Balo there, so is his dog. We almost made it through an entire article without a negative comment.
I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I am all out of bubblegum.

There's no 'official' de facto spelling of it, seeing as it's in Arabic, with different letters and all that. There was a discussion on something similar on here the other day, with Al-Jazira (Abu Dhabi football team) and Al-Jazeera (tv network) being spelt differently in the UK, despite being exactly the same word. Also, every country seems to spell 'Gadaffi' differently in their press, which I've noticed following recent current affairs in multiple languages.
