Doomie,
Please get fucling real on this Mate. Some bastard robs your car and drives it crazily around the streets to everyone's detriment. Do adopt the attitude that 1)...Meekly accept that it is his now? 2)...Allow him to keep it, because you owned it yesterday and to get it back would be considered old fashioned and out of touch? 3)...Think that the thought of fighting him for its returm would be idealistic?
Would you fuck...You would get yer arse round his place, knock the shit out of him and get it back and if you had any sense, you'd grip his wallet and retrieve the cash to pay for any damage.

So with FIFA...Until the 70s, the World game was run reasonably ethically. Havelange and his gang stole the game, Blatter and his gang inherited it....and you are happy to accept that to attempt to get it back is old fashioned, naive and all so yesterday.

...and if you honestly think that the big influential U.S. of A and England have any power or influence in World football, then it certainly proved it by the massive level of support we recieved in our respective bid campaigns. Influence...my arse.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

finally we're starting to sound like we're in agreement on this topic John.

1) we need to go Bingo stylee on some fucktards at FIFA and punch them in the throat then the dick to get the keys to our "car" back, and
2) our lack of influence is perhaps based upon our reluctance to take our 12" cock out of our trousers and smack someone in the forehead with it, or at least punch them in the throat to let them know we're still here.

Perhaps we'll see some legal wranglings that make this happen, but i have to admit i'd prefer something behind the scenes and less sensational and pathetic. It's making the entire story of world football and the WC look like a joke. Bad for the game, and bad for fans. Everyone to blame.

cheers

Funny as fuck that he's still in a job. Anyone else would have the grace to resign and put all this shit to bed. Unless, of course, he is staying to keep the 'Skeleton's' in the closet.

How can someone be reasonably happy to continue when so many things are coming out, he's the one heading it all up and if there is shit happening that he should have knowledge of, he should be the first to fall on his sword.

do you think my assessment of how this gets done is off base? what's so "american" about it, because clearly if i have a myopic "American" sense of this, then i surely cannot understand without some detail to your argument.

indulge me.

cheers

It's just my personal opinion that there are some subtle differences between business in the US and business in Britain - in general I believe there are more ethical UK business people than US (in percentage terms). There will always be exceptions in both countries, but there seems to be a tendancy towards ruthlessness in the US that hasn't quite made it's way over here yet (though it won't be long, we tend to follow you sooner or later in most things). It certainly wasn't meant as a xenophobic insult, but I should have explained it. Having said that, I have a tendancy towards naivety so maybe my world isn't quite the same thing as the real world.

Or there's just a tiny bit less hypocrisy in American business circles.
