You aren't, Xavi is the only choice here. It's like comparing a Rolls Royce to bunch of Mazda's.

Would you care to take this further Slim? Do you rate Sneijder?

Yes, but get 100 people to put together their world's best eleven, see how many times Xavi appears on the list, now add up every single vote for Sneijder, Modric and Hamsik. Wanna take a bet on which will be higher?

Dazby, my sympathies mate a serious thread turned into a slangfest.

Anyway, If Barca are adamant they want Fabregas n he really in all honesty wants to go there then the only stumbling block is the funding for the fee Arse are demanding, plus there is the other problem of is he going to play in the Barca first choice eleven? How about we solve both the problems for them by throwing in a tempting £40 mill bid for Iniesta? that could well set the ball rolling, for me as good as Xavi is it is not a wise move to pay the sort of money they would want which in reality is to fund the Fabregas move for a 31 yr old.

Of the options you have given in the original post there can be only one choice and that is Nigel de Jongs right hand man Wesley Sneijder, it was a good enough pairing to engineer / orchestrate a route to a world cup final.... get the cheque book out

Barca don't want fab anymore - be seriously surprised if they would sell there 2nd best player just to get him as well!

I would take Xavi or Sneijder.

Both these players have had massive bios in World Soccer over the last few months

At 31 Xavi hasn't got many years left but I don't think he'll neccesarily be finished at 33 either. From what i've been reading about Xavi he may be allowed to leave, ala Raul at Real, as he's given them great service. won everything (twice/thrice?) and is far from one of the clubs top earners and if we were to offer him silly money Barca would allow him to collect his bumper payday.

Apparently Sneijder used to be a bit of a trouble maker but his talent (and wife) are unquestionable. One we could really build a team around and another who's already achieved it abroad. He's also great mate with De Jong apparently. Put in a good word Nige.
