For those of you who are old enough to remember this momentous event, what were you doing? I was 6 years old and was chucked out into the garden to play on my own , my mother was also sent off out of the way somewhere by my dad, he had a few mates round and my brother was allowed in to watch it because he was 10 , I could hear all this shouting and cheering coming from the house and can remember thinking whats that all about.
tho i wasn't born yet, my mother told me this morning it was a really special day when Jackie Kennedy's sister Janet Jennings Auchincloss got married. Who from that generation could ever forget?
cheers
viVa el ciTy!
"All things considered, there's absolutely no escape from this hellish situation. I'm prepared to take the coward's way out if you are. It's reincarnation or nothing." -- Gideon Stargrave
Watched it at home on BBC prior to going to Belle Vue speedway that night. Never forgot Tofik Bakhramov the "Russian" (actually Azerbaijani) linesman nodding his head yes.
I genuinely didn't even bother trying to work it out. I would have realised otherwise...as it is, i really couldn't care less. Not a big fan of the national team - though I think that's more a generational thing.
