Can you have a friendly against the scum?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Can you have a friendly against the scum?

Postby michaelcityfan » Wed Aug 03, 2011 5:28 pm

Describing the community shield as a friendly is technically correct , but in my mind its another chance to beat the enemy and hopefully put down a marker for the whole season.
Or am I over competitive and unsophisticated? So is there such a thing as a friendly between the good and evil side of Manchester?

There's a trophy riding on it, but a minor one. If we win, I'll treat it as a trophy win over them, if we lose, I'll treat it like a defeat in a friendly.

Definately not, just like Rangers against Malmo, 2 Rangers players sent off already.

Didn't Taggart say that he had something to settle with us, some comment about shutting the 'Noisy Neighbours' up, again? Yet now they've changed tact and are saying it's just a friendly; figures.

Well Michael (I understand you are a city fan) when a game means fuck all but kudos I think, technically, you can.

Old red nose is playing it down already down as pre season knock about "we might try some youngsters etc" ...... IF they were to win Sky and the media will make "first blood of the season goes to united" if we win they will say it is "City finish last season a high" and play it down!

One thing for me is it certainly no longer "their fortress" two losses on the bounce in games that they despite their usual denial REALLY COUNTED

From my own point of view that what happens in in the stadium stay

s in the stadium simply because I am taking my 7 year old lad with me. Don't need him getting scared shitless by wankers.

IF we were to lose, I will be gracious in defeat as ever to their smug faces, just don't need any face to face Shit on this occasion.

"Friendly?" Not such thing against the rags!!!!!!

They are desperately trying to play this game down. If they were to win, you can guarantee it would suddenly become a match of huge importance. Now they've wheeled out Cantona in their never ending list of "legends" to say how great they are and how we'll never be as great as them. They're scared shitless.

Just talking football with a United fan...he said 'Lescott's first choice? Really? Over Zabaleta or Toure?'...

I asked what the fuck he was on about in regards to Zaba...he replied 'he's a centre back isn't he? If he's not he's a shite full-back'....

amazing.

It is just a pre-season friendly, part of our preparation for the games in the league that matter. united don't matter either.

On a side issue, I am getting heartily sick of players being interviewed on the official site and the first question being about united. Did you see the OS interview with Aguero? The first question was not about City, not about him, not about the transfer, not about the Copa America, not about Zabaleta or Tevez, not about his flight over even, but about united.

I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THEM ON MCFC.CO.UK. Can you understand this?

Fuck off.

united mean nothing. They are no more than a warm-up and this is all they deserve to be.

Well we used to play them quite a bit in testimonials etc. Remember some vague family aquaintance getting arrested on the Kippax for brandishing a six-inch knife at Scum fans during one.

But this isn't a friendly.

If United lose, Taggart will call it a friendly. If they win he will call it another easy trophy and have that sickly Darth Sidius smile on his face.
