Yeah OK
I believe you

Mate, the feeling as a lad who was still in school during the time we had Frank Clarke, Alan Ball, Phil Neal, etc and having to walk in to school every Monday after City had been battered by *INSERT NAME HERE* FC was fuckin humiliating! And when we went down to Division 2 there was nothing enjoyable about being loyal to City. I still had my season ticket when we were playing the likes of Macclesfield because I'm a City fan and I love the club. But the pain and humiliation of being relegated far outweighed anything.

At the time I fuclin hated the old 3rd Division, with hindsight I now realise I quite enjoyed cup finals every week and also visited parts of the country I would never have gone to had it not been for City .... it was a laugh on away trips as well taking over grounds/pubs etc etc and generally having a good bit of banter with starry-eyed opposition fans*

Hello everyone, I have been reading posts on this forum for at least 10 years but never made an account. I have often been tempted to make one and reply to some of the posts over the years and this weekend whilst drunk I made a promise to get an account before the season started and write a reply.

I spent 6 years abroad up until this year and this forum kept me in touch with a lot of things related to City - views of the fans, training reports, transfer gossip etc particularly when we weren't getting as much media exposure as we do now. I'd like to thank you all for the contributions you have made and the interesting reads.

Whilst at school I used to go to Maine Rd quite regular (Kippax!!) but unfortunately due to financial constraints and not being in Manc very often I have only been to COMS (Etihad now) a few times. I spent many years being verbally abused by dirty stinkin rags and other fans and seeing my peers after a weekend was often a nightmare especially since losing was the norm and we were eventually relegated and relegated again (Dark days). Although I managed to see the greats that were Kinkladze and Bernabia, I always resigned myself to the fact that the best we would ever hope for was mid table obscurity and a load of average / crap players amongst one or two good ones. I remember seeing us under S.Pearce at COMS and even though we won I left thinking trophies were only a dream.

Fast forward a few years and then I remember seeing the words, Abu Dhabi, takeover and Robinho all on the bbc ticker and since then how things have changed!! I can't wait till we can stick it to all the haters, the negative media, gary bell end neville and all the other rag tw*ts. It is all coming our way and I love to see the jealousy written all over their faces - I love milking every drop of it and hearing the crap they come out with now and it all comes down to one thing - FEAR!! They try and put us down but it is only a matter of time before more success and the title comes and they know it – deep down they know we are going to take over the prem and hopefully European football too.

Sometimes I have been guilty of disagreeing with Mancini's defensive tactics, decisions etc but then I think we should all get behind the team and manager because in my opinion success is only inevitable. After seeing the way he has changed things and stood his ground I really think he has what it takes to do well. If he fails I don’t give a dam because I know someone else will succeed. Maybe it’s being arrogant or selfish talk but I don’t care, I have promised to enjoy every inch of this period in our history because if you compare the late 90s to now, being a City fan is like being able to bed Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba and that fit bird off tv that you like every night whereas those days were a menage a trois with Pat Butcher and Vera Duckworth. If I ever doubt Bobby M, I ignore the bad thoughts, just remember back to the old days and I just smile because I only ever dreamt of these lovely ones and think things could be a lot worse. (Just to add that im not a hater and although the days in div 2 were good too, I'm defo sure which position I prefer to see us in.)

I would have started a new thread but this is a my first post so probably cant, anyway hello to you all, im sure some of you are already twitter friends but if not then you can follow me on there @rehpitt

I guess I should keep it relevant and reply to this thread topic as well. I was really impressed with how good we looked vs inter. Ok it was a friendly but I thought we played really well as a unit and can see us causing teams all sorts of problems this year. Plus we still have Aguero to come (can't wait) and I know Carlito would still give 100% on the pitch even if he wants a move. I do personally think we could do with another midfielder, im expecting Nasri to be here – there is no way Arse would let him go for a free next season. Am also expecting this to be a long season and doubt it will stay injury free so Nasri and maybe a backup for Nige / Vieira now he has gone would also be a player to consider.

Cheers to you all and thanks to Sheikh Mansour for making all this possible.

The feelings you express were similar to how I felt about our club myself.
But Chinners writes how a lot of tribulations we suffered led to him having a laugh and enjoyment.
For me I think that most of our fans who went then knew they would have a good time and that was the reason along with loyalty.
I liked reading your hello Mr.Rehpitt,hi
