We had an Academy Evening at the Didsbury Blues last Wednesday. Kiddo and Mark Allen, the Academy Manager came down with George Evans, Harry Bunn, Emyr Huws and Karim Rekik. The aim of the evening was to develop links between supporters' groups and the younger players, many of whom don't come from Manchester so we gave them a flavour of what it is like supporting City and the young players gave us an insight into what it is like coming through the Academy. Harry and George had come up through the ranks
having been signed up at age 9 or 10 and Karim and Emyr being relatively new.It was a great evening, the boys were extremely courteous and were a credit to the club. It was obvious that the Academy offers a lot more than just football, but helps the lads develop into more rounded individuals whose feet were firmly on the ground. There was a really interesting Q & A session with the lads, Mark and Kiddo who was given a great welcome. He is a gent and you could not wish to meet a more down to earth bloke. Well done City for instigating this!
