Academy v Blackburn

Tough game today with what was almost a reserve under 18's side. At least 8 players missing from what I would consider a first 11, partly down to an injury or 2 but also recognising the Barca game 2 days ago plus Celtic away on Monday.

Then not helped when the score was 1.1 the ref gave a pen and sent Elois Plummer off for hand ball on the line even though the linesman had clearly signalled for a foul for City beforehand.I was baffled by that one but Blackburn were clearly an older, bigger and stronger side and it felt inevitable they would win. When Ruznak scored a 20 yarder to make it 2.3 though Blackburn were clearly worried and playing very deep even though we had the 10 men.

Albert looked good to me and impresses game after game with his touch and good close control.Shame the same couldnt be said for Henshall and Cole who were just not involved much. Both looked very weak to me and offered very little.
