Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

The title is everything. 100% we should start our strongest 11 each game and we'd win it. Anything else is a bonus. I absolutely want us to be Champions.

Napoli. No contest IMO. Lose to Dippers and we're still top of the league. Lose to Napoli and we're out of CL, which is a big hit to our income and int'l appeal/prestige.

I agree that losing to Napoli would be a bit of a blow, but only for those who are harboring expectations in the CL.

It is also probable that expectations have risen due to the storming start to the season. If we were not flying high we might be more concerned over the league form.

As this thread is about fans perspective it doesn't really make any difference. The players and the staff though are probably totally focussed on winning both the games. I doubt that they are creating expectations in their own minds. It is a cliche but if we keep winning the next game the rewards will come. simple logic.

Anyway we will just about beat Napoli and we will run the scouce over at high speed. ( don't forget Mancini admitted he got it wrong at anfield last year - there will be extra attention to detail on this one and extra drive to put it right ).

We've all seen the games where we can actually lose something by losing, gillingham playoff would have hurt us way beyond another year in league one, drawing against the scouse on that final day with niall quinn jumping up and down trying to get us forward, we didn't lose but it felt worse than any loss I've endured.

So when the opportunity comes along to choose something that would actually count as a loss or something that I doubt will affect the season's outcome, how come all you City fans aren't recognizing which is which?

Napoli. A win there will see us out of the qualifying group. We can then rest players for Bayern to prepare for Chelsea if we want, we need to improve our Uefa ranking points to make sure we get out of these "groups of death" ASAP. I want the european adventure to continue.

Well if we lose at liverpool no big deal, if we lose at Napoli we'e almost certainly out.
So Napoli, I've waited years to see us in the CL, don't want see it end so soon. Would love a trip to Barca!

Win at Napoli and we're through with a good chance of beating anybody (and I mean anybody) over two legs. Improved coefficient thingies for the future and all the advantages that brings.
Or stay at least five clear at the top with one more of our trickiest fixtures out of the way.
I'd take gubbing Scouse. I want the title so much now that we've got ourselves in this position.

A win at Napoli; a draw at Scouse
(even though we should beat them)

Again, beating the scows, drawing with nipply and hammering the ever living fuck out of munchen would make me happy.

If I had to choose, I'd rather take the win over scouse. but we have a big game tomorrow and I hop eMancini & players are only thinking about 3 points tomorrow.
