Breaking Records

How many have we broke this season?

It'd be good to record our breaking records this season, there seems to be quite a few already.

Against Arsenal, we broke the 36 year hoodoo and were also the first team to beat them at the Emirates in the League Cup (I'm led to believe). What else is there?

City records (36 years v Arsenal) or anyone's records (first CC loss at emirates)? Beating our own records isn't much considering how poor we've been in living memory - if you can remember a good City side you're officially old. And a glory hunter.

What's the record number of records broken in a season? Can we break it?

But that's the point. We don't just go from yesterdays child to world beaters over night. When you say it 'isn't much considering' then I have to disagree, to me it's a massive achievement, the fact it's happened in such a short frame of time just makes it all so amazing.

I could be wrong, it may just be me, but I can't help but admire every record we break, the Rags game being the best so far.

Seems we are doing well against all our bogey grounds, WHL, OT and now arse away, long may it continue i say, if only we could of got a win off the dippers it would of been nice!! Avoid defeat away to chelsea and we have a great chance of going through season unbeaten!
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How far we've come is fantastic - this time 13 years ago we were close to our lowest ever league position and now we're 5 points clear at the top of the pile. There's even been the highs and lows in that period - promotion, relegation, Keegan's promotion, Pearce's first season and a penalty away from Europe, Pearce's 2nd season and, I hope, a record we never break.

Therefore to break some City records would be fantastic i.e. beating any records from the good sides. However, whilst I'm extremely privileged and thankful to be watching a fantastic City side, I think it's reasonable to expect them to be the best side of the last 30 years or so considering the money spent.

1971 and 1975. I remember the 3-2 win with Rodney Marsh scoring but cant remember too much about the 1971 game.

Ah, I'd forgotten that we'd beat Arsenal the other day for your 3rd, it seems to have been wiped off by all and sundry in the media, bit like how Liverpool beat us at the weekend!

What City have done domestically so far is amazing, not just the results but the style. It's been greeted in he media with a mixture of begrudging praise, outright hostility & attempted damage limitation by people with a grudge/bias to other teams.

If the rags or any of the accepted elite had played the kind of football City have played & managed to get results too, people would be going wildly over the top about it. I heard a comment the other day that Spurs are the best team to watch. That says it all.

Keep breaking the records City.

Well Spurs were more exciting than us last season as well, so it's hardly a surprise they are so good this season. Obviously we scored more than them last season and so far this, but that doesn't change the fact that they are clearly the better side.
