What stuff would that be that he could win with Arsenal?

A decent contract at a big club?

Why not?
If he gets stuck in; gives 100%; tackles; scores goals; and gets pissed off if he gets beat, what's wrong with that?
Why isn't that "good enough"?

Decent players are good enough for us at the moment, were not impressive at all.

Not sure why he is being compared to davies as Dempesy only plays right up front when there stuck and usually plays behind the striker or the side. He is more of a Tim Cahill than a kevin davies. i do like him though great attitude and a good player who should be playing higher up the league. Not sure how he would do at a top team where he is rotated though.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was me who brought up the comparison, which didn't have anything to do with playing style or position.
I like Dempsey; I think he is a quality player for a mid-table team. I'm also a fan of Davies (probably one of the few on here) or at least the player he was a couple of seasons ago. What I do think they have in common is that they are relegation fodder / mid-table obscurity superstars. You have a bunch of players who are really good footballers and pivotal for their teams, but who just fall short of being top club material. Dempsey and Davies are two, Cahill is another one. I always thought Arteta was a part of that club as well, along with Benayoun. Artea might prove me wrong, but Yossi - who I though was superb at West Ham, has not preformed too well at either Liverpool and Chelsea. Other players in this category: Nolan from a few years ago, Gamst/Pedersen in his prime, etc.

I could see him bullying Everton B4 the other night, and having a good night with his power. Good enough for us and mature enough to get better. We can judge today, I hope VK is playing as he needs watching.

Fair points nooly and i agree totally. Also I rate kevin davies, everyone slates him but hes great at what he does but could only do it at a small club. I hate when he plays against us!

I think Dempsey is exactly the type of player we need. Tall, strong, quick, two good feet and very good ability. Can play up top on his own, off the main striker or drop out wide.

He'd be a great squad player to have.

Why? At what point do you expect us to be fighting relegation?

I'm a massive van of Clint Dempsey, think he's good enough to be in our squad but he was very poor today.

I know Zamora was having problems with Jol, and apparently Dembele's days are numbered but Fulham looked like a team waiting for the manager to be sacked. Think their very lucky QPR, Blackburn and Wigan are so poor and they at least win their home games,

As an American I think he is definitely our most talented player at the time. He probably wouldn't start for us but
would be invaluable coming off the bench. He's very popular at Fulham though and I doubt they would give him up easily.

I like him too, as well as Donovan. Both are great creative attacking player. Too bad that football (soccer) isn't as popular as, say baseball or handball are. Dempsey and the like would be megastars over there.

It's a shame handball isn't big over here. Gaz Baz would be the Pele of it!

Is Clint a steer?

Was he trying to play wide receiver at the Etihad the other night?
