Ridiculous.
Every time Peter Parker goes on about a player we're linked with they tend to end up coming. For that reason alone I bet this has legs.
8 legs?

Either Mertesacher from Werder Bremen or Hangeland from Fulham.

Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has committed his future to the Giallorossi by signing a five-year contract extension.
The 28-year-old Italy international, whose previous deal was due to expire this summer, had been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Manchester City reportedly particularly keen to acquire his services.
However, Sunday's announcement - which comes after months of negotiations between the player and the American-owned club - looks set to end such speculation.
"We have reached an agreement with De Rossi for five years," Roma general director Franco Baldini said to Mediaset. "(On Monday) we will give the financial details of the deal.
"We are delighted to announce this agreement. It has been a difficult renewal because he (De Rossi) could have chosen other destinations. This has represented an added hurdle but he chose us and that is a good sign."
De Rossi has played all of his career for Roma and featured in Sunday's 4-0 triumph over Inter Milan after missing the last two Serie A games with a back injury.

Wouldn't put it past the sheikh of course, but right now I think this has the same chance of going through than Everton winning the title this season. He's just signed for another 5 seasons on a mighty salary, with no buyout clause in the deal, and he said today is the press conference, "Since the summer I always wanted to stay here, I was just after the right money, I wanted this wage and now I've got it so I'm here for the long term, being in Rome is what I need to play football at a certain level". If he goes in the summer after speaking this way, I'll be very, very surprised.
Nijinsky wrote:Quite strange to hear of any player speaking so candidly about money. I'm sure you're paraphrasing somewhat but I've never heard of any player talk about money - well not at the highest level - almost as if they're embarrassed to talk about the difference between, say 100k and 200k.. a huge difference of course but to almost everyone else, the initial figures were already absurd.
Refreshing in a way because we all know that's the reason behind these prolonged contact talks and leaked interest from other clubs - certainly didn't hear Rooney mention money, just how he'd suddenly bought into the clubs plans.
Shame, one player I really wanted us to sign.
