Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

usedtothespin wrote:And a bit off topic, but one of the weirder Dutch TV moments is this interview with Kiki Musampa about rasicm in Spain. In this clip the interviewer (Humberto Tan, quite famous in the Netherlands) and Kiki are talking about a racist incident in a Spanish game and the interviewer is trying to get out of Kiki what they are saying exactly (from around 0.20). The interviewer is saying 'I'm really curious what they are saying'. Then Kiki says, it's different in Spanish. So the interviewer says: Say it in Spanish! (0.28). Then Kiki says it. When the interviewer repeats it in Dutch (0.32) Kiki thinks he is abusing HIM. Look at his face. At 0.39 the interviewer get the wrong interpretation and says: You think I was saying that to you? No, no etc. and it's all sorted out.

But, this shows Kiki isn't one of the sharpest tools in the box.

Good player in Spain though. Terrible at City (I had my hopes up, 'cos I always hope the Dutch do well)

Why is Musampa getting mention in this topic? I'm not massive fan of him or anything but considering all the trash we've had, average players like Musampa should get no mention.

In fact, to put things in perspective, I wouldn't probably have single player from this century on my team. The trash we had mid to late 90's compare to nothing we've had ever since.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Fucking hell - I'd forgotten about him. I will raise you Wayne Clarke and Neil "Dissa" Pointon. Can't believe that we swapped Andy Hinchcliffe for that twat.

Yep. Was one of the better signings to come in under Pearce. The last minute winner against Liverpool was a great moment, too.

I think you're right about a lot of this thread being a who didn't we like forum rather than who was shit. Superbob T wouldn't have got into the dog & duck second XI imho.

As for who I plain old didn't like but had some skill Sturridge would be there. And who I liked but was never going to be using remote and unlikely family ancestry to play for brazil I'd go for Andy Morrison.

And if nicky summerbee wasn't called summerbee I'm fairly sure he'd have had a few votes by now.

No way can you include "Dissa" in that list. He is a cult hero if only for his "vintage violence" when launching Ryan (I love my family) Giggs into row D at the Swamp. Good Good Man.

Dissa had just been clattered by the Salford scally, and my mate turned to me and said, "I bet Dissa is sent off within ten minutes". I think it was less than thirty seconds before retribution was exacted. Never good to get a man sent off at The Sty, but still very very funny.

It was intensely funny.

And we got a draw too. I was in the Stretford paddock in enemy territory; when Curle scored it was piss funny listening to all the whinging and cursing from the cockneys and Irish that were about in that cesspit of a stand.

I actually saw the worst ever City XI play versus Reading when we lost 3-0 at Elm Park in 1998

It was:
Wright, Jeff Whitley, Briscoe, Wiekens, Symons, Tskhadadze, Jim Whitley, Russell, Brown, Bradbury, Beardsley

I took Rosler (City legend) out of the team shown and replaced with Russell who came on as a sub to get the Shameful XI who all played that sorry night. I think Rosler actually took his boots off half way through the 2nd half to indicate to Joe Royle that he thought someone else should have a go. It was so bad it is etched on my memory like your first car accident that you can never forget for all the wrong reasons.
