Jensen's goal vs Leeds - fast forward to 2.58.

That Di Canio goal before it is an absolute peach!! If you look when the ball hits the net someone in the Chelsea end behind the goal stands up to clap.

My that Leeds seem a good team. I hear they have a fantastic young player... Eric Cantona... I wonder if anyone could afford to sign him. I think that would change their fortunes right round!

:)

Cheers for that vid of the jensen goal can just make myself out behind the goals in the platt lane, i was up as the ball left his foot, definately one of those you just know is unstoppable.

Nb, kolarov is still the worst full back i seen at city since jensen, but what is it with left backs and having a "cultured" foot on them. Right backs dont seem to be anywhere near as prolific in the spectacular goals stakes

Agree....quite a few of his finishes have been technically amazing but, I think because he makes it look easy, they often don't draw more comment.

That goal vs villa
His first against Red Bull Salzburg'
His karate kid finish vs Blackburn away (ie. my sig) and
The latest goal vs Blackburn

all very special finishes

As they said in yesterday's Independent.....

2 Mario Balotelli is the most natural finisher in the league
Perhaps Mario Balotelli's finest trait is his ability to make difficult finishes appear insultingly easy. On Saturday he scored Manchester City's first, meeting a whipped cross and flicking it with lazy ease past Paul Robinson, barely even making eye contact with ball or goal. His best since his karate kick at Blackburn away.

The 1st goal v the rags, although not technically as difficult, was one of the best moments in football EVER imo. To be that precise in that moment; the very fact that he chose to do it like that & not take an extra touch makes it extra special imo & as good a finish as some of the more technically difficult ones. Players like Ian Wright & Torres have bottled it & missed open nets there. Mario passes it into the corner in the biggest derby for years.

I was watching that in Holland with no sound; I thought the ref must have blown or something. Time stood still until the celebrating City players appeared in the picture. Pure class to produce such subtlety on such an occasion.

Yeah fantastic.

I don't know if you were around in those days but if you were I'm sure you'd remember he did that kind of thing quite a few times but unfortunaltely most aren't on film. Volleying was of the many things he did better than most players before or since.

Here's a typical close to goal finish.

If the opposing player in that was Shrek you just know Vass would have ended up with holes in him and the ref would have done fuck all!

Even after all these years, still like Tueart's bicycle kick in the '76 League Cup Final.

And he capped it off with a class celebration too. Agree that it's up there as one of the greatest moments I can remember watching football.
