I only saw a little bit of the game but was impressed by Lavezzi.

I like Lavezzi, he has devastating pace, he would give us a lot, but cavani looked like a big girl last night!

I was yet again impressed by Cavani's workrate. Still not totally convinced by his attacking ability but although he was struggling to make an attacking impact, even 10 mins into extra time, he ran back the length of the pitch to make a crucial interception & possibly stopped Chelsea from scoring.

If you get 20 odd goals a season & put a shift like that in on a bad day, you have definitely got something.

I agree with Mctavish though; sign Munian before the others get him.

I really am convinced that no one will buy Munian. Does anyone remember a basc top player leaving them or Real Sociedad? They had Exceberria and Julen Guerrero in the past, top quality players. but they didn't left because Eta didn't want too, although the big clubs in Spain did some interesting bids from them. The same goes with Llorente

This and of course, the 60 milion release clause that Muniain has.

The young creative mid for Bilbao looked useful for his age too.

A point that should be made about them though is that Bilbao are thought of as the Euskeri ( basque ) psuedo National side. Until very recently the players had all to have been from the Basque country as recently as their grandparents. They put the work rate in for more than just football reasons if you like. Not sure if that would then transfer to other clubs in the same way. Or indeed that they would leave.

Imo, that makes our chances of signing their best players higher than those of Barca or Real. We would have to do a deal which suited them of course.
