This is clearly not good enough. A corner gives the opportunity to get men forward and to delver the ball into the opposition penalty area, we should be making better use of these opportunities!

gutting.

Absolutely woeful yesterday, and to my recollection we've always been rubbish on corners, but i'm sure I read recently that we are one of the better teams in the country when it comes to scoring from them, but you could have fooled me.
The problem yesterday wasn't always the delivery either, as I recall we had 2 more or less free headers and both were headed well over the bar.

Did Mario get a shout from Dzeko?

So clearly we practice them.
I think a bigger issue is how we attack balls thats are put into the box from wide areas.
Well firstly, unless Kolorov is on, none of the others can put a dangerous ball into the box regulally. Clichy in particular finds himself in so much space yet couldnt cross a road. You'd this he'd work on that in training as it would add a new dimension to the team when he's playing.
Apart from Dzeko when he fancies it, no other striker attacks Kolorovs crosses. Mario inparticular rarely does which for a man of his capabilities is a waste.
Im sure Douglas would know this but do we practice attacking balls into the box in training?

On attacking crosses they do it to a point but the more I think of it,apart from Edin, they don't often look to head it.

We dont ever attack the ball in the area, that is a huge issue with our play full stop. Mario in particular is happy to stand and wait for the ball to come to him, edin attacks it on occasions and looks dangerous when he can be arsed, but sergio and the midfielders dont attack it either.
Very frustrating. Our corner scoring feats are more likely down to sheer number of corners than any quality execution.
