Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and owner of English Premier League club Manchester City, believes the Blues have a chance of winning this year's title — but added that he was very satisfied even if they failed to do so.
Manchester United's 4-4 draw at home to Everton on Sunday, coupled with City's 2-0 victory over Wolves, has given Shaikh Mansour's club, who topped the table for most of the season before a recent stumble, a chance to snatch the title off their city rivals.
City will go into Monday's derby at the Etihad Stadium knowing that three wins from their final three games will be enough to make them league champions for the first time in 44 years.
Their superior goal difference to United — six goals — means they are likely to top the table even if the cross-city rivals finish with the same number of points.

Speaking to Abu Dhabi TV before the President's Cup final at the Zayed Sports City Stadium yesterday, Shaikh Mansour said: "The difference is three points and we do have a chance.
"But whatever happens and even if we don't win I am very happy and satisfied with the players, the team and the management.
"They have performed very well and have improved in their last few matches."

The improvement in the team over the last 3 games has been startling.

If we continue this form through the next 3 games, I dont think anyone could argue against Mancini getting another go next year.

What worries me is that someones ban is now over....

100% spot on and I have the same worry...lets see.

Don't worry, Mancini wont start him. He may be on the bench though. i'd have that. If we really need something and are running out of steam then he has to be worth considering. Other than that we won't see him.

FFS, he's spent 210 million pounds in 2 years. The solution isnt just buying. Not only is that
not an option for FFP but its just a dumb move; its the same as Chelsea's coaching switches.
You cant change things up after things dont work in a short time. Mancini needs to learn how to
coach a team...exiling people like Adebayor isnt the solution.

I genuinely hope we sack him and get someone in who knows how to coach a team and isnt
only focused on buying buying buying when problems arise.

Hah. It still holds true...except the last part.
Mancini still wants to blow loads of money buying new players this summer. Bringing in new players
and shipping out "bad" ones so frequently isnt a smart move. A team needs time to mesh and learn
to play well together.
No one can possibly think that buying and buying and buying is good for this club..or any club.

This will be the ultimate test for Bobby. If he doesn't keep him out of the first eleven, then it means that he hasen't learn anything of what happend so far this season.

Imho, he won't risk his job for Mario, not this time. He had enough.

I agree. After Mancini's scathing comments post-Arsenal re: Mario I don't think he will
start him..especially given the great form that Aguero is in (5 in 3) and how well Tevez
seems to be fitting in up front.

I don't mind him buying & buying as long as we keep improving, but I don't like it when he blames bad results on a lack of players. If he's signed players and found they don't do the job he was hoping, he should just accept it, move them on & try again. Hardly any other managers have had the opportunity to hand pick players like he has, so when we find Savic playing CB & Kolarov at LB, it's only because we chose the wrong players. Just accept it was a mistake & move them on.

The only thing we haven't tried in the last 30 years is stability. We have a world class team, a world class manager, a trophy, a regular champs league spot and with 3 games to go.... A shot at the title.

I am totally convinced ourbest shot at the title next year is not buying a new manager, it's letting the one we have keep improving year on year.

Up until now every season since we got lucky has been transition after transition. Only now are we getting to the tinkering phase. Even if we brought Jesus in as our manager, it would mean wholesale changes and put us back 2 years whilst they "gelled"

To Peterparker..... We only have one trophy? Wtf! That should be shouted from the rooftops in celebration..... We need to move to the next level? What level is that? Challenging for the title? We have improved every year since Mancini took over. Why should that stop now, just as we are beginning to reap the benefits of a manager who has been allowed to manage longer than a season?

This isn't football manager on the Xbox. Every team has its bad patches, you don't hear scum fans calling for bacon faces head at the start of the season or after the wonderful result last Thursday.

Mancini needs time to finish what he has started, and thankfully, our owners who aren't the most dumb individuals in the world know that as well

Yaya heaping the praise on Mancini:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012 ... to-mancini

"Full credit to Mancini – an unbelievable boss," the midfielder said. "He always believed in us, he always tries to tell us: 'Guys you have to believe in yourselves. Man United can drop some points. The most important thing is that you have to keep on winning games.' And if we keep on winning we feel United can drop some points enough for us. And we did it.
