Sunday Travelling Help

Sunday Travelling Help

Postby Steve » Fri May 11, 2012 8:25 pm

Not begging for a ticket, but begging for a lift.

Trains seem to be pretty much a no go on Sunday from my southern exile, so I'm asking if anybody who is travelling up from the south coul help me with a spare place in a car (I'll even take the middle seat!) Of course I will pay more than my fair share of petrol. Would normally just stay over the night before/after, but I can only squeeze the Sunday off work, being very busy. If anyone can help, or could put me in touch with someone who might be able to, I will be eternally grateful!

(mods, apologies if this is in the wrong place, feel free to move it... once it has had a fair viewing!)

You might get more joy if you actually say whereabouts you are departing from mate just saying south leaves a load of places you could be travelling from.

I kept it vague with the south, because I could probably get to a fair few places in the south on the morning of the game to make it easier. But to be specific, if anybody is travelling up from the beach in Bournemouth then that would be great! Obviously, places like Southampton etc are easy(ish) to get to on the morning. If the only option is London, I could still probably do that.

We obviously posted at the same time, I'm not going to be of any help unless you can get to the M25, M1 or M40 and we could pick you up!

Look Steve, I hate to see you disappointed and I hate waste.

There's not much chance of you getting a lift and even if you did, how would you get home again for work. If you made it, you'd be knackered and that's not fair on the boss who pays your wages.

Now, I can do you a huge favour Mate, 'cos I like you. Shove the ticket in an envelope. give it to a next day courier and send it up here to me.

Your problem solved, you have no need for transport, no inconvenience and no pissing about having to get or there, being stuck, maybe overpaying a cab driver....and the ticket isn't wasted. Not only that, because I like you, I will do it for free and send you regular text updates on the game.

YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

My mate is driving up from Wokingham - leaving about 8 - have not checked but he should have room as I normally go with him. Let me know if any use and I will ask
