Full time. 0-2.
I was quite impressed by City despite the lack of end product. A lot of skill and technique out there.
MU defended well and we didn't have a target man. No height up front?
I thought Suarez, Wabara and Helan looked pretty good. Maybe we will see them on the summer tour?

Over the years, I've watched loads of games at this level & in just about every one, Utd put out a side purely to win the game. In half of them, like tonight, City just stick in random players & move people into gap filling positions or throw lads in who aren't used to playing together etc & use it as a demo for players who are leaving.

Last time they televised a Utd game we had people like Etuhu in the team. Now Scapuzzi etc.

Nine times out of ten, when we really put out a balanced side to win the game, we beat them. They always play big games to win.

That's spot on assesment mate. We treated this as chance to develope (and in some cases pimp out) players rather than go for the win. That's exactly what teams like Ajax do. Of course we could've maybe put out side with all the pieces in perfect places and hammered them but it doesn't really serve the bigger picture does it?

P.s. I agree with Carl, this is completely wrong level for Suarez in order to help his development, we need to find him somewhere to go on loan.
P.p.s. Robbie M, you know I'm your biggest fan and all, but I've seen your lad few times now and while just a cameo this time, it's just not happening for him. You are wealthy man yourself and need not to worry about his future.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Aww. Poor things.

I remember the last time we won a trophy and they didn't, Tommy Docherty had them parade some fucking cardboard thing, (I think it was the 'fair play' trophy, at the last game/derby. We were in the scoreboard end singing "show us your paper cup".

It's nice to see the young rag scrotes of today carrying on the same tradition of not knowing how to cope.

I've a feeling they'll have quite a few other days where they are desperate for something to celebrate, in the coming years.

I must say that I wasnt very impressed by our non academy age players last night. The likes of Assulin and Scapuzzi are 21 years old and both of them as far far behind Rekik in terms of development and he only turned 17 a few months ago and was a regular in the championship for the last couple of months on the season.

Rekik, Facey, and Hiwula are all in the first year academy age group this season and Suarez and Huws are in the second year. Rekik was by far the most developed on the pitch in a blue shirt and there was only Pogba who was more developed than him playing at all.

I think it hammers home the fact that the last few years have been rather dry in terms producing talent. Talent good enough to join the first team squad. Of the non academy age players on show, Razak and Wabara were the only ones to me that would be worth perservering with. Johannson,Helan (or a left back version of Ishmael Miller as he reminded me of), Elabdelouai, Asullin, and Scapuzzi are clearly all not anywhere near the desired level. These 5 are 2 and 3 years past academy age, its time to move them on.

I'd considier having a cull of the EDS this summer, the 5 above for starters. I think Ahmad Benali is already going. Then theres the likes of Sean Tse, Andrea Mancini, Ryan Mcgivern, Abdi Ibrahim, Alex Nimley, Greg Cunningham, Dedryk Boyata, all far past academy age and not good enough. Theres even the likes of Gunner Neilsen still knocking around according to the offical site.

We may aswell get rid or sell the lot of them. The second year Academy boys from this season and also next seasons more developed 16/17 years olds would benefit more with EDS games here in there thrown into their schedule next season (I think theres a U21 league kicking off for Premiership clubs which we are competing in).

I think the decision not to play in the reserve league has hurt the development of alot of the players this year. Regular competitive football would have been good for the likes of Roman, Bunn, Razak and Wabara. Whoever made that decision deserves sacking.

Also, I dont know about anyone else but Andy Welsh always comes across to me a clueless in interviews!
