Robots replacing humans is a good 3 years off so I wouldnt worry about it now.

Who says that a goalline debate is more worthy of this technology over other debates? Surely an offside where the player's through, a foul in the box where a penno could be awarded and the defender sent off are just as important? Why not bring in technology for those? Seriously why not?
The answer is there's no reason not to. Once you bring in technology to the extent of beeping balls on goallines you've embraced the ideal. The tech is actually already there for the offsides, dodgy pennos etcetera and, once goalline tech is introduced, you can bet that the next big non-goalline decision to be contested will bring about a massive appeal for other tech to be introduced.
Ultimately, tech will stagnate a sport which is, bizarrely, eyeing other lesser sports in the name of tech and looking towards the likes of rugby league for answers to questions that don't exist.

Technology and innovation WILL change football completely . . . for the better, just like it always has and will.
Referees and their assistants do make mistakes, why do we put up with their imperfections when we can help them?
Referees will be more respected for allowing their decisions to be corrected, who wants a referee imposing wrong decisions when they could have been corrected in seconds through technology.

Tend to agree. Its one of those things that they could make a case for and have, but I love our sport as it is.

I'm in this camp too.
But points raised by such as rag_hater are good and the game could become better than ever. I actually think the reason why I don't want to see change is that I don't like changes and/or the uncertainty that follows. I love football as it is
