- not much to say about the first teamers - just a run out for them - Agree
- Savic hasn't improved - Agree
- Weiss trying to impress - and did a few times - Agree, looked the most dangerous player in blue
- Rekik again impressive - Disagree, too many hollywood balls attempted. poor distribution
- Biton pretty solid - Agree - decent distribution
- Lopes looked good, but a bit raw and will need to stop fouling. - Agree
- the other youngsters - nothing to get excited about - Agree, pretty average and struggled with simpled passes
- we created very little against a team who defended in numbers and put in a lot of effort - Agree

Presumably Besiktas are going to be more of a test. Although hopefully they'll attack more and that'll create more space.

I think you are mistaking Rekik for Razak.

Ah maybe, in which case I stand corrected.

Yes, Razak was appalling yesterday, looked like an ADHD riddled kid next to Biton, who is only a year older. The reports from his time in Brighton re his stinking attitude are another worrying aspect.

Looking at some of these EDS players, I'm not surprised at all with the stuff Benali has come out with. Even in the middle of pre-season they should be able to play some basic football, pass the ball around a bit. No such luck, I guess.

Razak can't be blamed on the EDS. We pinched him from elsewhere & he's trained lots with Mancini.

As well as overhauling the academy, we have recently allowed a bunch of scouts to leave & are bringing in new guys. I wonder if the likes of Razak & Savic are part of the reason for this.

This is the start of getting a look at players who need to make an impression. Mancini will not say go out there and just play. He will have specific things he is looking at and we have no idea what they are.

However, having said that, some of the basics has been sloppy. First touch isnt the best and simple passing is also poor.

I know its their profession, so how do you get to a stage where you have trained for a few weeks at that level and still miss on the simple things?

I wonder if my boss will allow me to be piss poor at simple tasks when I have my summer break and am still poor even though I have been back to work for a couple of weeks?

Seems strange, I bollock my U16 team for those simple things that the pros are not getting right.
