Not too bothered or worried about tonight's result. Just bored out of my mind.

Boring game not helped one bit by the pitch, it reminded me of the plastic pitches at Loftus Road & Boundary Park back in the 80's. I also thought our keeper, Taylor, looked very dodgy. Maybe it was the pitch as well but he didn't instill any confidence in me, if Given ever gets injured i would recall Hart immediately.

Yeah Taylor worried me tonight but that's nothing new he did pre-season too he was a huge mistake buy and that's nothing new he's definitely no premiership keeper not even as a backup. Nimely looks like one for the future by far. Also Vidal looks like a great buy and definitely gonna give Bridge some competition in the future.

We didn't buy Taylor, he was out of contract and on a free. We didn't buy Vidal either, he came through the youth system.

Taylor strikes me as a decent keeper but one that could have a great game but also could be crap. Last night he made 2 shocking mistakes , one of which cost the goal. He practices kicking with his wrong foot quite often as well but clearly needs more practice but you can't beat real match practice .
Of the rest of the defence I thought Trippier had quite a poor game. I really rate him from what I have seen in the past but last night his touch and general play wasn't great. Nedum and Ben Mee didn't seem to do much wrong and it was especially good to see Ned looking in charge although as ever his distribution wasn't great. As for Vidal I thought it was a mixture. At times defended ok but was caught out of position a few times and I don't just mean when he was supporting the attacking. When he did get forward he showed some good aggression and desire but too often just overran the ball with a poor touch at the critical moment.

Well it was good to see that all aspects of the club look cohesive considering the time and money spent on it.....every player knows what they are doing, they don't look like they have just met each other 5 mins before kick off, the football is some of the best I have ever seen a City side play, and if I was flying in a plane overhead it would all be at eye-level.....the grass continues to look lush and unused, and all that hard work that Hughes and them wonderful coaches who make up his Tafia have been doing for the past 18 months, is evident on match day when you see how great the football is that they play, we are light years ahead of where we were under Sven and having spent all the money we have, it looks like value for money.
It seems I am not the only one to have not been to Carrington, neither has Hughes or his coaching staff.

Personally I think you've got the glass a bit half-full there Doug. I know you watch them a lot and we only see them now and again BUT we do get to see them on a big stage. Mee was 'OK', no more. Vidal (as usual) has flashes of brilliance and flashes of crap. Nimely cant control a ball 50% of the time. Many of them are clearly not going to terrorise the Premier in the future and are bound for the likes of Oldham or Bury. Probably explains our indecent haste to sign up a great crop of 16-yr-olds from around the world. Really only Ned, Zabba and Ireland looked any quality at all. No-one else made you think twice.
And Taylor is absolute no-doubt-about-it Shite!

I can understand why some of you are pissed with the performance, but that wasnt an indication of where is the team going.
Most UAE fans werent pleased with the performance too, but its the 3rd game with the new coach, yet to play an official game. However, personally, I am glad with how we (UAE) functioned as a unit. We used to play attacking football leaving a heaven of spaces behind for opposing teams to attack for fun. Now I sense that is changing, thats why we played a boring match yesterday, and city didnt create any chance. What most of you dont know is that yesterday was the first time the manager calls up our highly rated U20 players, he called up 8 of them, with another atleast 5 U23 players, while missing 3 or 4 key players. City's team age average was 22 and UAE's was 23 so I dont think there's a big difference there that prevented city from putting a better performance. On the contrary, the youth have been playing together in the club so that should have helped them more, unlike UAE who had two halves of the team playing together for the first time.
I wont pretend to be knowing how good or bad the youth are, but I've seen them plays just a few times with the club and during the last U20 world cup, and I think not enough would be making it. But that was it, a youth friendly that have nothing to do woth where the club is going and certainly doesnt deserve crucifying anyone for it.

Your team also seems to be blessed with a good coach in Katanec. What can you tell us about him ?
