That is something the old twat would be totally unable to answer & is typical of the shakey ground most are on when discussing ways of moving the goalposts to stop us.

They want to be careful what they wish for. Capping salaries in england will just make top players move to contries with less tax and better climate. The PL would suffer and tbh the PL is the only reason teams like Wigan get any world wide exposure. We'd all suffer but the TV money would eventually get reduced when the best players are overseas. Teams like wigan would be fucked in no time.

He did say Taggart was retiring.

Whelan was a supporter of the salary cap when it was introduced into Rugby League, and he was the owner of Wigan Warriors. He flouted the cap by 'employing' his players partners and paying them the extra monies which did not fit under the cap. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_l ... 896583.stm) Its a big case of if the cap fits. In RL, the boot was on the other foot and he was the big money owner, buying success. He's a brown envelope merchant dickhead who needs to stop coming out with all this nonsense. Wigan Athletic will probably go down this season anyway, and no-one will give a fuck what the pie eater thinks.
