My wife is from the States so I watch a fair bit, Philadelphia Union in particular. I'd rate the general standard as top-end league one, which is nothing to be ashamed of, with a few teams (including NYRB and LAG) being at lower-end Championship level. It is improving rapidly, though, and some nice stuff gets played.

My two main criticisms are: player turnover is too high and this affects team-building; the goalkeepers are fucking appalling.

Still, it's an enjoyable enough competition and I'll probably get a Union ST if I move here - if only to get my in-the-flesh footy fix.
