Training Saturday 18.08.12.

I nicked this from another forum, I think that it is OK to do it, given DH being pals with NMT. Anyway, before someone else does it, here is the report:

Hello all

With DH away on his usual weekend Cricket duties, i took the chance to pop down to Carrington for the training session.

Good news was that all were present and correct, except for Micah.

Started off with another longer than usual chat with the boss, then the usual warm ups and ball work, nothing different to the goings on every day, the training staff do vary it each day but it does revolve around the same stuff.

Two noteables, firstly was the size of Rodwell, he's bigger than Barry, very mobile and looked really sharp and the second thing that stood out was how thin Tevez looked, since he joined and we saw him for the first time, i have never seen him so sharp and lean, when DH and I used to talk with Bowen they always used to say he got fit by playing, well he's way ahead of anything i've ever seen from him.

In the game at the end there were some good finishes by Mario and Dzeko, again Savic looked good in training, Lescott and Barry were very strong and the skipper finished off an excellent move, Silva weaving his usual magic, it was a bit weird as the referee for the final game seemed to be one of the abu dhabi people who were there with Khaldoon, he was a proper unit, maybe a bodyguard or something, shall we say he filled the kit he was wearing!!

The Chairman had a long chat with Mancini, being behind the fencing it is hard to see clearly, you can make out who is who though, it looked a very positive chat. Shook hands warmly and then left Mancini to get on with the last bits of the session.

We went round to the keepers where JH and Costel were being put through their paces with another keeper called David..............maybe someone can help there?!? Hart seemed to be OK, i know DH said he was training yesterday, so musn't have had any effects overnight, here's hoping for the same tomorrow.

Good session finished with free kicks being taken by Milner, Nasri, Mario and Kolarov.

They worked on corners, attacking routines and the usual defending drills, you might see something different tomorrow when we have a corner.

The usual good spirits, buzzing now about seeing the Champions tomorrow.

The only shame is they're still allowing people inside to watch but not DH, i don't know what's gone on, maybe a bit of bad press and the odd incorrect story might help Doug to get back in, he has always only reported how it is.

Good to be back today, even though it's really overgrown now where we go, has anyone got a machete or something to cut down the weeds, or cut a hole in the fencing!

Just finished playing golf at Mottram Hall and who should be there but Aguero getting into his car. Looked like he had played a round or hit a few at the range.
Take it easy son, don't want any injuries.

Was there some event there today? I overheard someone in work mention something.

I couldn't say. As we were walking off the 18th, he and about 10 others were leaving as well.

Thanks to Neil for getting along and reporting back and good to hear good news. On the basis that Mancini seems to enjoy playing things down I just think that we may see more of Rodders this year than some might think.

Good to hear Mario getting a goal too, might just do the same tomorrow even if it is from the bench.
