I now believe the premier league is BENT!

Postby gillie » Mon Sep 17, 2012 10:47 pm

After watching the games this weekend i can draw no other conclusion.
Case one.Welbeck pen the Wigan keeper nowhere near him.
Case two.Mario elbowed in the face twatenburg says he did not see it even though he was 15 yards away and looking straight at it.
Case three.Mike Jones blows for a foul on Ben Arfa when they had a 3 to 1 break because he knew Everton had score a perfectly good goal seconds before but his lino could not see if the ball was over the line.Even though Jones knew the ball was in.

That was one of the worst, most bent pieces of reffing I have ever seen.

The lino made an honest mistake. Jones knew Newcastle were almost certain to score & there would be a furore, so deliberately prevented them from doing so. It is disgusting, obviously bent refereeing & made me feel sick to my stomach watching it.

This should cause the biggest stink in Premier League history. It's totally unacceptable. Bollocks to the 'was it over the line' debate. That happens several times a year. Here we have seen a 100% nailed on example of a ref cheating in order to get his team of officials off the hook. It is fucking shameful. He could see the whole situation from his position, there is no excuse. He cheated.

He should never be allowed to ref another game; end of story.

Saw the incident a few moments ago, as I was watching the highlights with my colleague, who just happens to be a fan of the barcodes, and we both agreed. It should've been a goal and he shouldn't have stopped Ben Arfa. A clear case of the ref trying to cover up for the fuck up a moment earlier.

In the end though, this weekend was poor in terms of refereeing.

Ted, some commentators would argue that was the right thing to do to "even things up". Refs at this level need to be punished for poor performances. You can't make a decision soley based on the fact that you fucked up earlier yet you see refs doing it game in game out. Sending offs evened out, penalty claims turned down cos teams are confortably winning, fouls ignored because a player has a reputation etc.

On a side note i'd be very surprised if we get any decisions tonight.

so a situation arose last night were technology if brought in could have stopped newcastle scoring on the break, but the ref stopped it instead cos he knew everton had scored, so question is why did he not give the goal.

He realised it was probably over but couldn't be sure, so gave nothing, then shat himself at the possible outcry if Newcastle scored from the breakaway, so cheated to save his & his lino's arses.

The worst thing is; he will get away with it because most people think the story is the goal line incident rather than the corruption which followed.

it was so obvious why he stopped play, yet not one person on sky last night or this mornings radio have said the same, mind boggles.

You can see the ref actually expecting Wigan to try the same & thinking 'I'd better be ready with the whistle' so much so that he completely misses a Utd breakaway behind him as he's so keen to give Utd the free kick.

Gary Neville said he thinks the ref realised something was wrong and pulled it back.
