At Wolfsburg it was the exact opposite. Killer balls were sprayed in by Misimovic (basically an identical player to Stephen Ireland at his best, with an extra 15-20%), and Dzeko just seemed to be there to knock them in. Best example would be a run of 3 or 4 games, with the second(?) being Wolfsburg's demolition of Bayern (5-1, I think). If you can find highlights, watch the games. Wolfsburg scored about 20 goals, with Dzeko scoring about 8 from running onto open play crosses.

He's much better receiving to his feet than his head, though. The fact we're playing against teams who pack their box is massively to the detriment of this part of his gameplay.

Teams pack their defences against us. One of the few times this didn't happen when Dzeko started was against Tottenham last season.

I don't think we have the players to fully utilize Dzeko. Johnson never seemed to cross 'in the right way' for him. Our most effective players to field with him are Milner and Zaba/Richards, but Milner seems to prefer passing forward along the midfield than delivering a Route One ball, and Zaba only comes out of his shell now and again. It's yet to be seen whether Sinclair will be a good match for him.

So far this season, Dzeko is a lot more up for it than last (as is Balotelli but gets no credit for it). My only criticism of Dzeko is when he doesn't give 100%, which was more than half the time he was on the pitch last season. This season, he looks really committed to the cause if he remains so, he will play a big part.
