Sunderland on Saturday

Postby AG7 » Wed Oct 03, 2012 10:19 pm

Sunderland next ...

Those fuckers took 4 points off us last season ... I am just happy that after tonight the following would (SHOULD) be back on Saturday:

Tevez
Barry
Lescott
Milner?
Micah?

After tonight's performance, I think this SHOULD be the starting XI on Saturday:

Hart
Zaba - Kompany - Lescott - Clichy
Barry - Yaya
Silva - Tevez - Nasri
Aguero

Subs: Milner, Dzeko, Kolarov
Unused Subs: Balo, Panti, Garcia, Sinclair (Balo and Sinclair may come ahead of Dzeko or Kolarov should the game require otherwise I don't see them any better than the ones slotted in XI or the three main subs mentioned above)

Tell me if this ain't our strongest and probably most stable XI?

PS. And would anyone really be surprised if we see Kolo Toure starting ahead of Lescott and Sinclair starting as well ... oh, and lets not forget Maicon at the right back ... I'll seriously consider not watching the game if Mancini puts out another of his stubborn lineups trying to showcase new signings ...

This isn't our strongest and probably most stable XI.
...and if you decide not to watch the game, can I have your ticket.
Thanks in advance.

No complaints about Kompany anyone. Head & shoulders above everyone last season, driving everyone on as captain, yet to reach the top of his game for me and could be spreading panic among the other defenders who knew if they cocked up last season Vinny would rescue them whereas this season they are paying for their mistakes

Swap Nasri (who was anonymous yet again last night and hasn't played well enough to deserve a starting place since the Southampton game) for Milner

it's a must-win game
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Whatever side we put out we will probably stutter past sunderland, and win.
But its the big games that worry me. Last night against dortmund we were so inept it was shocking. At that level i doubt if Mancini will ever deliver.
Real went to ajax and won 4-1 away, considering the dis-organised tactical mess we saw last night against dortmund, can anyone see this team doing that?
Yea we will beat sunderland, and everybody will be happy for a while, but there are serious problems deep down.

Mancini has said he'll need to field 5-6 fresh players as not enough time to recover between fixtures from CL game to this against Sunderland ... I can't imagine what 5-6 players he is talking about ... Tevez, Barry, Lescott in ... who else? Maicon and Sinclair? I doubt if we'll even scrape a draw as you put we'll stutter past them for a win.

Worried for tomorrow! And more worried for the season ahead :(

Come on mate get a grip.

If he makes those changes we will be a damned site closer to our strongest side than we were on Wednesday.

I think his statement is more of a shot across the bows to some players though

Let's face it, he could make 11 starting changes from Dortmund and we should still win the game on paper. Coming in to start probably will be Maicon (if fit), Lescott, Barry, Milner or Sinclair, Tevez, Balo and maybe even the lesser-spotted Toure. Wholesale changes will not do us any good against a settled Sunderland side.
