However, they have weaknesses and can't be beat. If we keep the pressure on them and win games they expect us not to (Arsenal) they will slip up

Another myth pal. That was the exact response I got when I brought this point up with some rag acquaintances. In fact in the last 2 times when they won the league they only dropped 2 points in the last 5 and that is what's holding their average up for those years where they dropped 5,5,7,8,7 etc

Its a funny one for me, in one breath I'm quietly confident that we can catch them, as I firmly believe, that now we have some level of consistency, and the fact that we haven't conceded a goal yet in 2013, we can beat anybody anywhere. Beating Arsenal has given me that confidence.

However, in the next breath I get a bit nervous and think that we will struggle to beat all of Rags, Spuds, and Everton away, whilst also recalling that Swansea beat us at their place last season.

My most sensible thought is that the Derby will decide it, or come as close to being a decider as it can be. I think the pressure will be on us to get a result in that game, I fully expect us to be within 3 points come that game. If we lose, its curtains for the title, if we win and take a 1 or 2 point lead, it'll be very very close again.

I have the faith that we can do it taking one game at a time, if we start looking too far ahead, the task of overhauling them is huge and quite overwhelming. Have patience blues, and we will see.....

If that had been City, I would be fucking furious.

Spurs were shite, had a limping centre half, Parker, no centre forward & Utd were a goal up. Utd were running through them with ease, reaching their penalty area & playing the wrong pass every time; like City at their worst. They should have chewed Spurs up.

It was a shocking performance by the rags, they pissed two points away, & shouldn't be allowed to sweep it under the table.

They were SHIT.

They were shit and frankly Spurs were the far better side and should have battered them with the chances they had. The Spurs players turned to jelly in front of goal. Nonetheless a point away to Spurs is never a bad one.

But how many titles have they won by doing that? Playing defensively away from home, nicking a goal on the break whilst the opposition miss chance after chance. Only difference yesterday was that Spurs actually scored.

They've won loads of games like that on their way to winning titles. Had they won, I think it would have been a major step to wining the title. They didn't, & it's a major step towards failing to win the title; again.

They are still favourites, but only because we have to go to Goodison, WHL & the swamp. It will be difficult to make up the lost points in view of that. Should we win those games however, they have just shown us,again, what a bunch of shithouses they really are when teams fight back.

Spurs are not a bad team, but WHL one of the toughest places to go? When was the last time Spurs won a home game v Utd? I'll put the answer in spoiler so you can have a good guess first.
May 2001, I kid you not.
Since then they have lost twice as many games as they've drawn! At home! Fuck me, is that miserable or what?! Many shitter teams have a much much better record v the scum. I didn't expect anything from those wankers & it's fucking great that they somehow fluked a draw in the last minute, scored by one of the shittest players on the day as well.

Comparing our fixtures we have much harder games than them.
RVP has been the difference between the sides - they have scored 13 more goals than us. Also with Vidic and Ferdinand back their previous dodgy defence looks stronger.
If RVP gets injured or the CL draw gives them a significant distraction we may just catch them.
They must be clear favourites. We are relying on another major slip from them.
However we never give up hope!

I am of the view that the shite will drop points but we will not be able to string a decent enough run of results together to trouble them.
However after last week's comfortable unpicking of Arsenal, and the way we are putting lesser teams like Fulham to the sword I am more minded to think we can pull them in. Even yesterday chatting to a fellow Blue, he gave the impression it was a mere formality that we'd romp it.
So, how confident are you? On whatever scale you feel apprpriate.

Thing is the rags are always going to have last season in the back of their mind and how we overhauled them

Put enough pressure on them..win our games..and they will fold

I agree that Spurs usually fold against United but not many teams win at the lane. Our record there, excluding last season has been apalling.

I am confident ... that they'll drop points
I am not so confident ... that we won't too!

Then there are times when I am confident we can go on a decent run and not drop many here on till the end ... but at the same time I then think they won't either.

I had posted a list of potential games where they will drop points in (in the other Title Race /Comparison thread) ... and now they have already dropped 2 in the first fixture on that list ...

Here's the list again:

Spurs v Scum
Scum v Everton
West Ham v Scum
Scum v Champions
Stoke v Scum
Arsenal v Scum
Scum v Chelsea
West Brom v Scum

I think our run in is quite comfortable

One of the posters on Bluemoon did a thread about it, ( http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewt ... ed96fd1a93 ), with there difficult fixtures compared to ours:

On paper the following fixtures are probably trickiest:
"Man City V Liverpool-Sun 3 Feb
Man City V Chelsea-Sun 24 Feb
Everton V Man City Sat 16 Mar
Man Utd V Man City-Sat 6 Apr
Tottenham V Man City-Sat 20 Apr
Swansea V Man City-Sat 4 May

Man Utd V Everton-Sun 10 Feb
Man Utd V Man City-Sat 6 Apr
Stoke V Man Utd-Sat 13 Apr
Arsenal V Man Utd-Sat 27 Apr
Man Utd V Chelsea-Sat 4 May"

We have four difficult away fixures to their two.
Obviously any fixture can spring a surprise in the PL.
Here's hoping!

As I've already mentioned, to be overly confident would be just silly.
But, in all honesty I did not had much positive expectation for the WHL game and we now stand in an even better position than on my own dream run-in. I would have cool if we had approached the February/March crowded and demanding stint of the Rags' run-in, with the 7 pts. gap.
Sure as hell, if they go far into the FAC, in addition to the double clashes with the Franco-fascists at very least, they will drop points. All I want is to go and visit the Swamp standing within a 2 pts. gap: which now looks like a quite reasonable expectation.
I also consider that the Saturday's clash at the Britannia, whatever on a different aim, will be very telling for us. If we are able to go there and impose the RULING of our recent form against the Pulis wrestlers, I do not see any reason why we should not run on a very fast track of points collection on the fixtures which separate us from the Away Derby, even if we should confirm our traditionally poor outcome at the Goodison. I am cool on the idea that we are gonna add 21 points on the table before taking on the filth, which in turn will be more than enough to see their legs staggering before kick off.

Also, dunno know if it makes me a blasphemous or not, but I repeat that I want Manure to go up to the FAC final: if the season shall end with City taking the piss on them, TWICE, I swear I'll spend my holidays in Manchester on the mission of winding up all the rags I can, from mid to end of May.
may my dreams come true.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

In Roger Ailes/Donnie Drumpf's words: "don't know it for a fact, but many people say so..."
there must be some truth, then!

Van Pussy is carrying that team, its a fact.

Every rag fan i know and work with will tell you the same. They will also tell you that there midfield is nowhere near as strong as ours and they will also tell you that taggert will fuck up with a weird team selection or two and it will cost them bigtime !
