Darren bents an odd one isn't he. Same thing happened at Spurs, is he perhaps someone that is a pain in the arse at training of something?

Scored seven ;-)

Thank God for small mercies. Obviously 'Better than Balotelli' ;-)

Being a huge Benteke fan and more interested in other players than those at City, I understand he didn't play, make the bench or even the squad. Either being saved for the increasingly important league games or with the transfer window still open possbily something more sinister going on?

always thought of darren bent as a poor man's andy cole. more than capable of scoring if he feels like it, more than capable of doing absolutely nothing of consequence for games on end. those kind of players don't thrive in poor teams that are low on confidence.

I'd hate it if Villa go down. Good away day, no matter what they always bring a decent following that make some noise and as mentioned above we take points off of them on a regular basis. Why can't teams like Fulham get sent down instead who bring no one and kill the atmosphere amongst fans and players every game.

I felt the same when West Ham went down, much more fun to play.

Hasn't Pronto just taken over the Saints?

No, they've been taken over by his little brother, pronchettino. But if he gets a result at the Theatre of Broken English next week, he'll be an immediate success.

He won't. A snowball has a bigger chance in hell, peace in the middle east has a bigger chance, I've got a bigger chance shagging Kim Wilde. Won't happen!
CTID!!

I don't know, have you seen Kim Wilde recently?
On another note, it's nice to see that despite the cash-waving of recent times that some City fans still want to see Villa staying up. I've had a soft spot for them since that brilliant Ron Saunders team of the early 80s. I reckon Lambert 'll take them down if they don't get rid and bring in someone with more experience of a top-flight relegation battle.

i also have a lot of respect for the villa fans, but it's stretching a point a little to say that randy lerner has refused to put his hand in his pocket. i remember the villa fans singing "paul lambert's claret and blue army" when they played norwich whilst mcleish was still in charge, so they certainly wanted him (or, rather, wanted anyone but mcleish...)

villa have a net transfer spend of +£75m since lerner took over. but they took a big gamble this year bringing in so many unproven youngsters. i wouldn't usually advocate changing the manager, especially as a new manager almost certainly wouldn't be able to bring any new players in. however, they're on such a downward spiral... a change in attitude is needed as much as anything, and a new manager might just bring that...

maybe that's why adkins has turned down 3 offers already?

I can't wait for Villa to get relegated. They're unbelievably boring to watch and just not good enough for the premier league.

It's a bit strange as I thought Norwich were entertaining to watch last season as they always got forward in numbers (which also resulted in difficult situations at the back). This year his side is just pretty dull.and it's not like Villa is especially tight at the back...
