I don't think any of us have seen him in sufficient real game time (against quality opposition) to offer a view on just how good he is but from the limited amount we have seen he is clearly a better option that Stuart Taylor.

A couple of those saves from the other day were top top drawer. How old is he?

We have a tricky balance. Any keeper who is properly top drawer and who has played as first fiddle in the PL (a la Shay Given) would have to opt to be second choice and rarely play at a top top club in the running for titles against playing for a "lesser" team but playing every week. Most of the keepers with PL experience as first choice who are still good enough I am positive would prefer to be playing.

If we can get someone like Pantylemons from a country like Romania where he will have (I'd imagine but PeterParker & Co can confirm) that he'd get quite a bit of prestige in his home country for even being second choice at City and would (ego-wise) be happier to accept that Joe is more likely than not going to play most games but that he will get some action at a very high level and get to pick up (albeit semi-vicariously) some trophies and medals.

I'd say stick with Lemons

Well, the media here has to sides, one that thinks he will only grow as a player at a club like City, with the staff that we have and with a great training and the other part that is convinced that he made a mistake, he needs game, bla bla (this part of the media is in general formed with rag and scouse fans).

I've asked a while back Lemmons he wants to talk to me and then make a Q@A here, but he said the club won't allow that, but said to me he is very glad that he is here and he thinks that a club like City can only make him better.

Imho, what i saw from him since he came here is a huge improvement and if he will solve the problem with the crosses, he can be a top gk. He will accept any conditions that City will want, only not to go back at Timisoara.

Sorry for the double post, but the news is fresh. As i said, Timisoara has huge financial problems so they are trying to get some money as soon as possible, so their director of football, an idiot called Chivorchian,a lad involved in match fixing and other stuff just said this:

"Avem mai multe clauze în contract. Daca vor sa îl cumpere acum, noi primim o suma. Daca se vor decide sa îl ia definitiv din ianuarie, este o alta suma, iar daca vor hotarî sa îl pastreze la primavara, vom primi alti bani. Bineînteles, sumele cresc odata cu trecerea timpului. Daca nu il ia City, il va lua Manchester United", a spus Gheorghe Chivorchian pentru EVZ.

The translation is this : We have a lot of clauses in the contract. If they will buy him now, there will be a fee, if they will want to buy him in the spring or summer, there will be another fee. The cash that we demand will increase every month. If they won't buy him, we will sell him to Scum.

The news if from 5 minutes ago.

It's not an "article" mate, it's just a write up of this

which is actually a good interview

I noticed that and liked it a lot. This is the one part of Joe's game that I don't like. He never passes the ball but keeps hoofing it up the field which in 9 out 10 cases either goes out or is won by the opposing team and they start another attack.
As for Panty, I would say keep him. I think he's a very able back-up for Joe.

Tbf he didn't have that much to do today but i thought he was impressive. I'm still trying to determine if he is a good enough #2.
(of course someone like Begovic would be a better #2 but no way would he come to be on the bench)
I'm not really a City fan. I'm just here for attention.

It was a good second half. There's only one way to determine if he's up to it. He's got to get a go sometime, it might as well be in the cup.

I think he's good enough got first team choice, but with any team you only really need one keeper.

His ball distribution is better and quicker than Joes - I suggest Joe improves on that in his game.
