First time I ever heard of Burkina Faso was in an issue of King of the Kippax, in a section called 'Kappa Connections'. I remember it vividly.

When I rule the world I'm renaming them, and their national strip will be the mankini. (made by Puma).

I'm sure you'll find someone closer one day.

I couldn't find this thread before, but Yaya's goal was an absolute corker. He'd just been going through one of those horrible, lazy, half arsed spells too, then he suddenly created a move & finished it beautifully.

I saw the beginning of the game. It seems he's gotten a quite free poll playing in the hole. I like it.

The VSO would be the closest thing over here - basically the same but without the 'exporting our culture to Johnny foreigner' angle.

You'll never get a friend in the same country with that kind of attitude.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Well I thought that Cape Verde would pull off a shock. Its not often you have a group that produces 3 unbeaten teams. Fortunately the hosts have gone through otherwise there would be no-one going to the games.

Group A ---------- Pld W D L F A Pts
1. South Africa --- 3 1 2 0 4 2 5
2. Cape Verde Isl - 3 1 2 0 3 2 5
3. Morocco -------- 3 0 3 0 3 3 3
4. Angola ---------- 3 0 1 2 1 4 1

Fixtures / Results
RSA 0-0 CPV 19/01/2013
ANG 0-0 MAR 19/01/2013
RSA 2-0 ANG 23/01/2013
MAR 1-1 CPV 23/01/2013
CPV 2-1 ANG 27/01/2013
MAR 2-2 RSA 27/01/2013

That Morocco/South Africa match was a cracking game, swapping the lead back and forward with everything depending on the result.

3 terrible decisions vs. Burkina Faso tonight (penalty, disallowed goal, and second yellow) but they still managed to pull it out. Crazy.
