In the town I'm originally from, more people actually used to go to women's football than men's (which probably had to do with the fact the the ladies were the best team in Europe while the men played in the third tier).

Umea? Do Lund have a football team? I am moving there next year.

Yes, Umeå. Far up north. It's more of an ice-hockey town (although the team went bust a few years back and is now playing in the third tier).

There are no stands on the short sides ...

Häcken finished second

What about Söderstadion Hammarby IF play in? That ground has pretty fantastic atmosphere when Stockholm teams are playing though.

University of Lund?

Malmö would be quite close and football mad.

That is absolutely stunning pic overall. Even from artistic point of view. Love it. Tells the story of not only football pitch in funny locvation but the story of game itself. The beautiful game.

I once played in this completely backwatered small town where local park was riverside. Two of the substitutes from both sides were signed to catch balls from river with these long poles with net on top.

None of these look worse than the Dell. Not just the 6-deep away end stand but the 2-tiered little wooden one next to it where your knees pressed hard into the seat in front and the ears of the chap in front. Tinder-box dry wood and about 100 years old, impossible to get out of at full time let alone in a fire. Biggest death trap I've seen.
