A guy I know swears blind that he's convinced we threw the Charity Shield game vs the Rags.

phil dowd was responsible for the Charity Shield.

Apparently a Champions League game played in England is under investigation.

What went on at the end of Ajax at home had "Bent" written all over it.

Edit

That's the first comment that came out of my mouth today at work when I heard about this. The officiating at that Ajax game was beyond inept.

It doesnt mention any Prem games as being investigated but Stokes v Spurs, last year I think or the year before, where the officials disallowed a good Spurs goal, didn't give 2 clear penalties - one was a handball on the line and just generally gave Stoke everything and Spurs nothing the entire game was the most blatant evidence of corruption in the game I have ever seen... I'd be surprised if that game was legit

Think it has been posted before, but http://www.howtofixasoccergame.com/blog/ is a very good read on the issue. Here is also another book by a different author: http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2003/ma ... sure.sport

The ref for that game just reffed the Euro 2012 final and CL final between Barca & Chelsea. I'm guessing the suspicion is on some of the Debrecen players, if this is indeed the game...

the Debrecen keeper already been banned for not reporting approaches from dodgy third parties. They're trying to declare it "no news"
