When making any comments on our midfield of current or future, I seen to ALWAYS forget he even exists in our squad. Such a shame, I like the lad and think he has played well in what little we've seen of him.

What are people's thoughts on extending Kolo's contract? From this interview reported on Sky Sports, it sounds like he would like to stay.
If he's happy to remain a squad player, with a slightly reduced salary, then I would give him another year, and then review again next summer. He's been excellent when he's come into the side this season, and his experience would be great to have around for the younger players in the squad.
Plus we get to keep singing the Yaya/Kolo song :-)
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news ... his-summerKolo Toure has confirmed he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season, but he wants to stay in England.
The 32-year-old Ivory Coast international joined City from Arsenal in 2009 in a £16million deal.
He was a regular during the first couple of years during his stay at the Etihad, but he has since become more of a squad player under Roberto Mancini.
Now he has admitted that he is set to leave City as the club have made no contact over a new deal.
"I have been here for nearly four years, and two fantastic years when I have been playing a lot and I hear my songs with Yaya and I will miss those things, for me my family is here, my kids are at school and they like the area - but in two months nothing has come from the club and I am thinking about my future definitely," Toure told Sky Sports News.
Toure, who has been linked with moves to Italy and France, insists he wants to stay in England.
"My first choice is this country, as I like English football - that is why I began playing football," he said.
"After Ivory Coast I came here, I don't know any other culture and it is important for me to stay here, I have been here for ten-years."
Toure also congratulated Manchester United on winning a 20th league title. He says they deserved to win it and warns City they must start next season stronger.
"They have been more consistent, more concentrated and I think we lost a bit of motivation and determination and that cost us the title," he said.
"I think City need to start from the first game to the end of the season and try and be focused, like we were last season - every game, as the Premier League is so hard, you can beat Chelsea and then lose against Wigan and those games are key."
Toure along with Samir Nasri were at the Etihad Stadium this afternoon with an East Manchester primary school for the Learning Through Football scheme. The highlight of the scheme is to improve literacy and numeracy levels in Manchester and the UK.

If he takes a wage-cut, yes definitely.

Kolo wants more football which i agree with he is 32 and not at the age to sit on the bench.
If he wants more game time he will have to leave, sad but hey ho.

Kolo should be signed up, the loss of a really catchy song is just too much to lose.
If Tevez wants to stay till he's 34-35, I'd sign him up, sadly he brings too many attributes in one package that aren't found in many, if any, players in the world. Never got over Munich, we really needed not to appear the league's clown car right then, and he pulled that shit. Seemed like a malicious and calculated move on his part at possibly the worst time for us, but as he's gone on I've realized, he isn't that bright. That being said, he works so hard for the team, has insane levels of skill and power, and we would trade down no matter who we get to replace him.

Huge fan of Barry, very steady Eddie, top performer for me, I would extend but also look at the way in which we saw the game played last night, the similar aged Alonso, his influence was minimal, He is vulnerable to 21 to 26 yr olds like the Dortmund MF'S No respect they ran his legs out of him, Modric invisible last night. Young energetic midfielders needed to replace gazbaz at some stage. I like McCarthy at Wigan, Diami at WHUFC, We can see why he wanted Martinez now he seemed to bully Xavi and Iniesta.

Barry correct
Milner I think we could offer him a 5yr contract and if he slows down at 31 he will still have some resale value that a lesser Prem club would be happy to pay?
Tevez, well I guess it's case of how serious he is about being here and being treated well by the club as he said in his interview recently?
I don't think he'd accept a 2yr deal, he'd look to 4yrs with or elsewhere for one last fat transfer fee.
Hoping that he stays with us like everyone else.
Back to Kolo, I can fully understand his need to move on but would be more than happy to get another year out of him & as Slim says a great song would go to waste
