Barca forced citys hand, mancini out, pellegrini in

According to sources close to the deal, Pellegrini has verbally agreed to take over from Mancini once City exercise a €4million clause in his contract with the Champions League quarter-finalists. “I don’t think any of us really want to leave Malaga,” said Pellegrini yesterday. “Everyone would prefer to stay but, unfortunately, the circumstances we are in don’t allow that.” It is understood that City exchanged contracts with Pellegrini's lawyers last week though the those have yet to be formally signed. Inherently conservative in their approach to such matters, that City accelerated their courtship of the Chilean in FA Cup Final is a response to competing interest from Barcelona. Early last week, Barcelona asked to be informed of Pellegrini's intentions for next season amidst internal concerns over Tito Vilanova's ability to continue as coach. When City learned of Barca's approach they immediately moved to avoid losing the South American to the La Liga champions-elect. City's board met on Saturday morning, with senior officials declining to confirm or deny that a deal was now in place with Pellegrini. They did, though, recognise that Mancini's performance was under review following a season in which the Premier League's most expensively assembled and best paid squad was knocked out of the Champions League at the group stage and meekly ceded the domestic title. City's Spanish executives Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain have been preparing to replace Mancini as manager for months now. In February, The Sunday Times revealed that the pair had informed Pellegrini he was their preferred candidate after double Champions League winner Pep Guardiola chose to join Bayern Munich ahead of City.

Maybe they where happy to lose FA to make this easy for them.

I suppose that stunt was well worth fucking the FA Cup final then.

I don't have problem going for new manager behind Mancini's back, that's the nature of the beast in top football club, but to let the rumours fly around on the eve of the FA Cup final meaning the outcome didn't matter one way or another is fucking awfull and unprofessional.

I wanted that FA Cup more than Mancini or new manager or anything else for that matter. Clearly for certain people within organization that wasn't big deal at all.

It's a joke with what's happened, I think it all started when balotelli was sold in January, lose mancini's backage and I think even if we would of lifted the trophy he would of been sacked!!!

That has become pretty painfully apparent here. FA Cup didn't mean shit to powers that be one way or another. Mancini was goner anyway. I find that pretty gut wrenching.

But hey ho, it's all about Champion's League for people apparently these days. World's oldest football cup competition don't mean shit to these people. It's not a money spinner you know.

I am lost here, how exactly did all this fuck up the FA Cup? While Mancini's tactics were off and his substitutions really questionable (both nothing new), the players played like they did the last time they played Wigan. I just think it is a stretch to blame it on anything other than the way the season has gone from start to finish. Like what happened or not with Mancini to correlate these things is a but of a reach to saw that is the only reason.

I suppose a sniper did Tevez when he should have burried his chance.

i hope trixi dixi, soriano learn from the ruthlessness of the chairman and owner in their desire for success. They will not tolerate any failure this next season. The Barca philosophy has been shot to peices now that Messi is injured.
