Sevilla will play 2 friendlies against City, one in the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium and then other in the English city, on dates yet to be determined, as part of the deal to transfer Navas to City

Sevilla's technical secretary, Victor Orta, revealed to the club's media the inclusion of these 2 friendlies in the agreement that was reached for the transfer of Jesus Navas to City, for 20 million euros, which could rise to 26 if certain targets are reached.

Orta, who leaves Sevilla at the end of the month after having accepted an offer from Zenit St Petersburg, considered the transfer of Navas to City, made official on Tuesday after a medical, an "extraordinary operation".

"There haven't been any great difficulties, which demostrates that they wanted the friendlies. We are talking of an impressive event with 2 friendlies against City. That is a great deal against one of the new most powerful clubs in the world. It's win-win," underlined the still-technical secretary of Sevilla.

Victor Orta also indicated that Navas had made clear that he wanted to leave, and in that case it was best to obtain the best possible deal, as has been done, and this is an unquestionable plus for the negotiations of the Prseident, del Nido and the sporting directo, Monchi.

No idea when we're going to play them. Didn't we do something like this before and end up playing them in an international break or something?

We played Barcelona in the Joan Gamper trophy a couple of weeks into the 2009/10 season.

I'm guessing that Sevilla keep the revenue from both fixtures then as I've never heard of someone wanting to play a pre-season friendly away from home as part of a transfer before

Anyone remember when Pearce was in charge and someone at Ballymena Utd (I think) noticed that there was a 10 year old agreement to play City as part of the sale for Richard McKinney so we had to go to Ireland in midweek in about November.
