The rags have been relegated???

Nah ! He's confusing Gollum with Hughes, he usually has his team in the bottom three before Xmas.

And he thinks either of them is managing a team in the championship?

I think he means losing to Wigan in the community shield.

Glad someone is paying attention. Moyes chance for an early trophy - and you can guarantee it'll be bigger than the World Cup if he wins it. Even more gutted we didn't win the FA Cup to stop him getting a trophy, finally.

And even funnier if they lose it...which they will do.

Don't forget, our ex manager and his lickers counted it as a proper trophy.

bumping this thread as the current situation re:fabregas seems to illustrate the point that with scum its all about the PR and soundbites...they should keep their badge as it is as they become more of a corporationas the weeks go by.
As mentioned, if they have bidfor fabregas arent arsenal entitled to know the details as per the agreement when they sold him? arsenal say they havent been contacted re a new bid so whats going on?...i ask this question smugly from a comfy chair not anxiously you understand...

Barca have written to the rags officially and told them that fabregas is not for sale and to cease any activity in trying to bid for him.

The Catalan giants have said publicly that they do not want to sell the former Arsenal star.

However a source close to Fabregas has told Sky Sports News that the player is considering his position having been given no assurances that he will be a regular starter next season.

Barcelona may consider a £35million offer, according to the source, but will ultimately leave the decision up to the player and will not force him out.

A final decision on Fabregas' future could now be accelerated, though, after Barcelona appointed Argentinian Gerardo Martino as their new coach in place of Tito Vilanova.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique had earlier told United they were wasting their time trying to buy Fabregas and there were also reports in Spain on Monday that Barcelona had rejected United's second bid which is reported to be £30million plus add-ons.

Pique, a former United centre-back, was quoted in The Sun as saying: "United are wasting their time. It took a long time for Cesc to get his dream move back home and he won't give it up.

So far, United have not made any new signings this summer, other than Uruguay Under-20 star Guillermo Varela and, whilst Moyes accepts there may come a time when he has to walk away from the deal, that position has not been reached yet.

"I think a point does come," said Moyes. "But when you are interested in good players you want to give it every opportunity to materialise.

In addition to Fabregas, Moyes has also been linked with marquee signings Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, plus Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini, so far though, there have been no reinforcements and Moyes admitted he can understand why some fans are nervous.

"I can understand that feeling," he said. "But there have been quite a few changes. Other managers have changed their clubs too and everybody thought this might be the summer when transfers are done later in the month.

"That was always the thought I had when I came into the club. You have to remember I only started on July 1, so in truth I have only been in the job three weeks at this present time."

"I will hope things will continue to move forward. At this moment in time I can only tell you Ed Woodward is working hard to try and make the deals happen. We hope some of them will fall into place shortly."

"This is home. It is where his family is, and he is playing with his closest friends. He has told us he is happy and that he intends to stay with Barcelona."

Manager David Moyes stated on Monday that he was waiting for a response and that chief executive Ed Woodward was dealing with the bid.

Speaking at a press conference in Yokohama, Moyes revealed: "As I understand it, Ed had a response (to the first offer). We have made a second offer but Ed is dealing with it rather than me."

Leviticus 8.1. Beware those from Traf-ford. They are heathens who spillleth their unclean seed upon the way of talbot on their return to the south and other places not from this land and must be purged from the soil. Verily I sayeth unto ye when the son of satan and of the nose of cooked swine and he from the Murz Sea who looketh as unnourished and goggle eyed as Goll-um then ye must know that I shall smite those cunts unto many pieces. Amen.
