Kicking towards the south stand

Postby charvet_wonderland » Sun Sep 22, 2013 10:36 pm

Saw a thread about this a while ago but don't think there was a definitive answer.

Do any of these statto websites record the direction we play in the first half of home games? It seems like we always go towards the south stand if we win the toss, and if we lose it the opposition opt to kick off in the direction of our choice (north). I can only remember us going the other way once in the last 5 years or so.

If I was playing us I'd make us change ends to put us off our stroke; is there any way of finding out how many times this has happened?

I've noticed this too, we always go the same way. Odd.

It has been this way since we moved to eastlands, my first seasoncard was in the family stand years ago and I quite enjoyed seeing the second half goals up close. However.... I now sit next to the away fans and love celebrating the goals next to them.... Especially yesterday!

Paul Ince was one of the few managers to make us turn around.

Don't know why more haven't done it.

Presume most teams want to attack their fans in the second half.

The couple of times it's been changed has confused me for a few minutes. Mind you, I often panic at the start of the second half when I spot the away team have a 4 on 2 break until I remember it's us attacking.

I'm sure that's not strictly true.

Well I would if playing for the rags - deliberately shoot wide to 1) not score and 2) smash one of them in the face
