Against Villa, I would of gone with a 442, because I thought, this team should of beat them, tbh, I was almost drolling with some of the football in th first half and distraught with the blunders of the second half, this is the grey area the manager has to find that solution.but with a run of four away games on the bounce and 2 very good teams stand in our way in Chelsea & Bayern and lets not forget WHU put Spuds to the sword last week
I would almost take a mancini style (from his first few months) back to basics in these next few games to try and get some consistency in the shape of the midfield and defence, whatever the formation may be, we have to try and keep it simple and do the easy things well and get our drills and awareness of team mates positioning spot on before the rest of it can slot into place.
That and a bit of resiliance. We seem to be folding towards the end of games, which is something I dont associate with this team who have the experience to play these games out from a winning position.
