They'll figure out a way to get France and Portugal in at the very least, even if they have to cheat to do it. I am sure they are ringing Henry for ideas as we speak.

He'll lend them a hand

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Croatia very lucky with recent form just 1 point from 4 games Lost 2 against Scotland , lost against Belgium, Draw with Serbia but very lucky draw . And its not just about the lost games how bad hey play.Even before that they win in Wales 2 3 by stroke of luck in last seconds. Win Lichenstain just 3 2 also in last minutes. If they play like last few games Iceland have a shoot but Croatia change manager finally and i think they will bounce back. Greece well 1 0 and 0 0 and they will go on WC to snooze us all .I would love for France to go out but from what i saw from refs when they play no way. And would love to Sweden to go but they have bad defense. So my hope is Croatia , Romania , Ukraina and Sweden but it will be Croatia , snooze , handball and CR7 (portugal )

I just said exactly the same to a friend a couple of hours ago. Even the scores for the Greece - Romania matches were the same.

Am I right in thinking that if Iceland go through, they will be the smallest country (by population) ever to have qualified for the World Cup, ousting Trinidad and Tobago, who are current holders of that accolade?

Brilliant:

A very funny story has been reported out of Bosnia with the press publishing information about a group of Bosnian soccer fans that wanted to travel to Lithuania to watch the national team play a historic match, which if they won, would see the tiny Balkan country in the World Cup finals for the first time in the country’s history.

Bosnia managed a 1-0 win in the Lithuanian capital Kaunas to secure their place in next summer’s World Cup in Brazil, but sadly the group of fans that had traveled to cheer on their team never even made it to the stadium or even to the right country to watch the match.

Haris Tresnjo explained what happened, saying:

Me and several of my buddies went to the game to cheer for Bosnia, but rather than arrive in Lithuania we ended up in Latvia.

When we bought tickets for the trip and no-one noticed that we were going in the wrong country. When we arrived there, it was very quiet. There were none of our fans anywhere. So we asked some people in English where everyone was and where should we go to watch the soccer game.

We told them that we came from Bosnia to cheer our team, but they just laughed at us and said that we are very far away from the stadium. One younger guy eventually explained how we in the wrong country, how we were in Latvia and not Lithuania.

We wandered around Riga a little more to be sure [we had screwed up]. This was my own stupidity. I’ll remember it all my life.

The group did however manage to find a bar where the match was being broadcast so it was not all lost, plus they got to see a place that they might have never gone to otherwise.
