Actually really hard to pick one player out. The defence as a unit had a really good game. Newcastle had us under a lot of pressure at times and we withheld that admirably well. Fern aside the midfield looked jaded though Nasri offered glimpses. Beast and Dzeko worked hard and both scored so job done there. At a push I think Kola just edges it on account of the assist and superb block late on with an all round good game

I'm going for Kolarov, his attacking threat and crosses lead to so many of our goals, defended well today too. Demi also had a great game keeping his work simple and Hart proving the class keeper he is too.

Is it awesome or disturbing that the three best players we had today according to our vote are Kolarov, Demichelis and Hart.

Three players who have taken serious flak on this forum.

Kolarov. Rock solid defensively with a crucial late block, then set up the first goal, also set up another great chance for Nasri and was an outlet for us all day.

Its awesome. Duh. We are fickle spastic cunts. Also they've mostly been crap when we've ripped them apart and if the average is going up then happy days for us.

He's getting the praise he deserves for his improvement. He's stepped it up a level this season.

I went for Hart, commanded his area brilliantly and some top saves too.

I went for Demichelis imo he was excellent but most of our defence shone just not as brightly as Demi.

Was a tough choice today, but I went for Demichelis. Just for the fact he had returned from injury and put in a decent performance.

tbh though I thought today nobody really stood out, not in a bad way. It was a very good collective performance by the team in a very hostile and intimidating environment. These are the games that win you silver. We lost too many off these types off games under Mancini, today we saw 11 players putting in a shift for Pellegrini, we learned a lot, we have character and team spirit, we can roll up our sleeves and fight. The soft underbelly in our side has gone. This victory was hard earned and just as rewarding as any 6-0 or 70.No way will i criticize the performance off the team today, the best team in the World would have struggled to put in a cohesive performance there today.Today was about standing firm and not being pushed about, we passed the test

Cos he's made the required effort and isn't constantly being nagged by a manager who could have rented himself out as a one man panto audience "BEHIND YOU!"

I went for Kolo but could have easily plumbed for Dzeko. Fern also deserves a mention too. Great all, round play from the whole team - pulling together as a single unit!
