Had we been on our game it wouldn't have been even. No even close.

That in itself is a positive to take away.

This is how I'm thinking for the cup game. It's unlikely that we'll play that bad again or that Chelsea will play that well. We made some decent chances but for once didn't manage to find the back of the net. I'd be gobsmacked if they kept us out again.

I think people are thinking we were dominated because we left too many holes in midfield, and both Dzeko and Negredo (particularly Negredo) had poor games.

Yet despite this, we actually created lots of good chances and with better finishing Mourinho's 'masterplan' wouldn't have looked so amazing.

It doesn't detract from the fact that Pellegrini, disappointly, failed to react to the midfield situation and try to rectify it. He needs to learn from this.

But we weren't completely shite or dominated like some people are making out.

Because we were, open your eyes!

We were NOT dominated, the difference was Chelsea looked like scoring everytime they came at us, we were not at the races in front of goal and I never felt confident we were going to score.

We also had 64% possession, a team cannot be dominated with stats like these. We were outplayed by chelsea being more effective with the ball. they didnt just mess around with it passing sideways.

At the end of the day and dismissing all the pro Maureen spin in the media over the result we didnt score a goal at the Etihad for the first time in nearly 3 and a half years despite us missing several golden opportunities to score ........ Chavs scored one and that was enough to win the 3 points . There is a long way to go yet before the trophies are handed out , those who laugh last laugh the longest and all that ! ;-)
Not really here

Fuck VAR
