If interviewed on Sky about any subject regarding City, he usually picks out the negatives & manages to slip one or two barbed comments in. This is not his typical routine when talking about others, it is noticably, consistently worse re City. I would say 90% of everything I've ever heard him say about us is negative & I would rate him as possibly THE most 'anti City' pundit on the tv.
I have no idea why this is; I've tried to figure out what we did to him or his team(s) & when.
We have a lot of lower end teams to play at home, & we need to understand that we have to actually beat them in order to win the title. Hopefully in another week or so, it will feel like a title run in, & we will play with the neccessary fervour, as yesterday felt like a mid table end of season game.
Beating rags & Arse will not do us any good if we can't beat Sunderland etc.
Yes, I definitely agree that Tony Gale always seems to sound negatively biased against City, but he's far from being "THE most anti-City pundit on TV." Michael Owen, Alan Hansen, Danny Mills, Charlie Nicholas, Lou Macari and some others have been far more insulting towards City, than Tony Gale has been. Last season, James Cooper of Sky TV was very influential in helping to get Roberto Mancini sacked, which determined the outcome of the FA Cup Final defeat by Wigan. In the past, Sky TV had a monopoly on the press conferences and James Cooper was the leading force in highlighting and exaggerating every problem at City. Cooper had actually been banned by a number of other managers and he was constantly trying to stir it up & create controversy with his questions. Thankfully, with this season, Sky TV no longer totally dominates all the Pellegrini press conferences and James Cooper's negative influence has been nullified.
As for the remaining matches of the season, I agree with you and I especially worry about City having to play Sunderland, West Brom & Crystal Palace, all in a row. All 3 of those teams will have to fight for their Premier League lives against relegation and I worry about potential injuries to the City team, during those matches. I still haven't forgotten that Tony Pulis said he'd be happy with his team winning incorrect ref decisions, goals and points against City, last season... So, essentially Pulis is OK with his team cheating for a draw or win!
I'll be happy if all the City players can start the remaining matches, with the same amount of determination and fight, as they have displayed in the second half of matches.
