Lawro and Degenerate predictions week 36

Postby Wonderwall » Fri Apr 25, 2014 1:36 pm

Lawro has had a stroke this week and has strayed away from his 2-0 steadfast prediction by going for a 1-1!!!

http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27133256

While I was watching Manchester City against West Brom on Monday, I just got the feeling that they know they cannot win the league.
The noises coming out of the club might be that they are still in it and that every game counts but I think City know the game is up, and their defeat at Anfield was the end of their chances.
If the City players are sitting in the dressing room before this game and news comes through that Liverpool have just beaten Chelsea, then it really will be all over for them.
Regardless, I really do not fancy Manuel Pellegrini's men to win at Palace, especially with David Silva set to miss out and Yaya Toure another injury doubt.
Take those two out of City's team and they are missing a massive chunk of their side against a Palace team who are on a huge high after winning five games in a row.
You can guarantee that Eagles boss Tony Pulis will not be congratulating his players for their run of form or telling them to go out and enjoy themselves in front of their fans now they are safe from relegation.
It will be nothing like that. Palace play some good football but his instructions will be the same as they always are - let's steam into this lot and give them a real game.
Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Merson goes for 1-2 to City

This is a Catch-22 call as well because if Liverpool win then Man City will go out there thinking it's all over. I'm sure Manuel Pellegrini would rather have played first and if Liverpool win then I could see this being quite open. Palace are safe and we could see both teams going out and playing with freedom, not worrying too much about if they win or not. I actually think Man City will end up winning the game - and then hoping that Crystal Palace can do them a big favour against Liverpool, which would not be a huge shock given the way Tony Pulis' men are playing.

PAUL PREDICTS: 1-2

If you wondered about how Lawro has seen us this season.......he has never predicted a loss for us ALL SEASON

"While I was watching Manchester City against West Brom on Monday, I just got the feeling that they know they cannot win the league."

That's a bit odd Lawro considering City can still win the league, unlikely as it may be.

Of course we can! If we win and Liverpool lose vs Chelsea it's back in our hands!! It's ridiculous to think we can't win it! I don't understand this mentality! Especially after what we did 2 years ago!

Exactly.

Unfortunately though, I can see where he's coming from because both fans and players seem to have given up.

It's very sad.

Looked that way on Monday night. Hopefully a chelsea win will spur us on to go all out for it again. We will have to go all out as well as could come down to goal difference again.

There's a lot of hoping going on in that Dipper Rags rambles.

Didn't look that way to me in the opening ten. Granted when we got the third we took our foot of the pedal and did enough for the next hour.

Lawro came good with a 2-0 for Liverpool though.

I liked Zac Efton's comment 'The chants you have here are insane - like a long poem that every single person knows'.

For City well I've recovered from the Anfield disappointment now and I think the players will have too,

It is, but I think fans and players alike can see that this season has already been scripted and you can't beat the referees.

Hope Lawro is ok. A 1-1 draw?

Thankfully he is usually wrong and will no doubt continue in that fashion as we smash Pulis and Palace to get back on track as the dippers lose to Chavski.

Has he predicted that it will go above 2 goals in a single match of ours yet?

I'd just like to see us win the next three and take it to the final day. If we can manage that there's no doubt the dippers will feel massive pressure.
