Now this would be the best option IMHO

no way nycfc let's villa go on loan then when they are already publicly stating they want lampard back when his loan is finished.
We own them.
this is understood, but of course we are aware co-owned is not the same as owned. the other owners (the yankees) have their own agenda, even if city is generally on board with their plan. villa and lampard are their best players, easily. as we also know this is the inaugural season for the club. i'd gather they want them to be well acquainted with things there to start the mls season to make a splash as much as possible.
the rumours about lampard staying with us longer, i believe, has been partially about nycfc being able to conduct pre-season training in manchester. that is a few weeks maximum i believe.
mls preseason training is usually at the end of january into mid/late february.
difficult to see such a move as plausible after that. maybe villa joins for a short spell, but not past january. somehow i doubt it as it could make us look bad. hope i am wrong as we could probably use him.

I've no interest in Benteke whatsoever.

Bony and Benteke are not solutions imho, they are B players, we need a striker to play alongside Sergio for the next season. Jojo is that man, but he will never be fit to play in those games, week in week out.
There is only one striker out there that will be perfect for our squad: Gonzalo Higuain. But to buy the argie, we need to invest and with the FFP, the chances of that happening now are beyond slim.
So plan B is simple: Pozo.
Higuain is a bottler.
Higuain, no thanks no improvement on dzeko.
2007–2013 Real Madrid 190 (107)
2013– Napoli 44 (24)
Does this look like a flop? Now imagine him with a fit Sergio.

However, if he's out for the season the Club will be into the market for a striker. The idea that they would give up on the League title by relying on 2 strikers one of whom has a poor injury record is silly.

Wrong. Manchester City Football Group, own them.
Note the words 'Manchester City' in the title.
I'm talking bollocks there it's 'City' but it's the same thing. It's City who are running this, not an outside operation.

Technically you are both wrong. NYCFC are owned by by the league. When City paid the expansion fee they were buying shares in the league and City was made operator of NYCFC. The contracts players sign are with the league and not the individual clubs.

Fair enough. But I doubt the league will be paying for it or deciding where their players go. Nor the Yankees.

They wouldn't just have 2 strikers if Kelechi got a permit & they brought back Cole, they would have 4, plus Pozo, maybe even Ambrose, Yaya could step up & Villa may be available til March on loan.
They've let that plastic headed cunt make his politiical speech at the CFA, I expect a work permit for Iheanacho on its way, if it's not there already. I would much rather have Kelechi than most strikers we could realistically sign in Jan, including Benteke.

He is a bottler who went missing in many of Real's CL knockout and el clasico ties. Statistics are b*ll*x. Even Mario Gomez has extraordinary stats, he is an average player.

I don't know much about English politics, but I have to say the same thought crossed my mind, watching the CFA opening.
I was just wondering would someone in government be having a word with their colleagues in Foreign Affairs.
I'd love to see this lad in the league in January.

Actually they do determine where players go. It happened with Jermaine Jones this season. There are all kinds of weird rules MLS has. Most of them the media and fans don't know understand because the league won't explain them.
