As for the game, we were well beaten by a team I found hard to believe were Arsenal.
TBH I thought they were superb, while we were pretty dire.
At the match I felt we lacked a little zip and missed Yaya. He is always there to receive the ball and is creative and dangerous. I thought Arsenal showed a flat back 9 at times and made things difficult. Whilst Arse did break well with speed and guile on occasion I did nt think they were brilliant. We had lots of potential attacking situations but it was nt happening. It seemed a bit of a smash and grab with Arsenal benefitting from a daft penalty and a free header. When I got home there was lots of talk of superb Arsenal to my surprise. I checked the stats and they had 35% possession and only 3 efforts on target. Maybe it was the beer I drank between the EDS and the first team in Mary Ds but it's as if they played like Real Madrid. Well executed tactical plan I suppose but two soft goals from very few chances for me.
Navas is getting nailed on here and I think it's not fair on the fella because he ran his socks off - sprinted endlessly box to box and also made some great tackles - his crossing wasn't at it's best but he wasn't the reason we lost the game.
I felt we missed Yaya seriously, Kun wasn't match fit and went missing entirely for most of the game, Komps wasn't match fit and was slow and clumsy and Joe Hart was simply Joe Hart - slapping the ball away when catching would be easier, half-committing himself and getting stranded, waiting good and long until the arenal players got back before distributing the ball straight to them.
Kun and Komps will get fit and be brilliant again soon enough . . . the goalkeeping issue will haunt us repeatedly until something is done about it.
