Great stuff, the game itself is insignificant but there were so many positives to take from that. How must Trippier and Weiss feel tonight? Ned was outstanding, as were the entire defence to be fair. Ireland showed a touch of class, Petrov looked hungry and despite not being used to the role, I thought Tevez did well as a lone striker. His hold up play, for a small guy is impressive.

So, no injuries, a great experience for the young players, a run out for those short of fitness and the small issue of a win at the Nou Camp- not a bad night overall!

Nice one!

Chris

It was UK only
I was wondering how I missed it!

Surely the club could spare a thought for us poor foreign fans!

What a fantastic result and capped a brilliant two days for me that did, the performance again was professional, forget it being a friendly that game meant something to Barcelona, they would NOT have wanted to enter the new campaign on the back of a defeat in their final game, and players aiming to show their manager they should be selected.

The atmosphere even high up in the gods (I was in the 3rd tier of the Lateral stand and about 10 rows in front of the flying flags!!...the ones attached to poles), was amazing, the foghorns they sold before hand to everybody or so it seemed, were deafening and made it feel like a game day of old used to do for me, but they were also annoying, also loads of paper planes making their way down to the ground even from that high was something you would expect.

The "Barca Barca" warcry song before the game got going was awesome, very loud and would I imagine be intimidating for any away side or visitor to that arena on gameday, and they are the most biased fans I have known, if either Bojan (their new "darling") or Messi was touched then it MUST have been a foul and a free-kick or penalty, regardless of which direction the ball went, and if the ref never gave it, the foghorns and abuse would prevail for the official(s).

It would be just like City to lose now to Wolves, after going to the Nou Camp and winning, defending well, even if for large parts of the game we were camped in our own half and chasing the ball, not many side will open up at Barcelona at all either this or in future seasons, so I didn't expect City to go all out attack at them, Weiss had a good game, but was a tad greedy at times when the pass was the better choice, Tevez was very strong and held the ball up superbly well when he was on, good run out for the lad that was....however, I have seen a steel to this side now in the last 2 games that was never there last season, so I am hoping for a 2-0 win tomorrow (my predicition at work).
