If you are starting to bring in younger cbs & your captain & best defender is injury prone, keeping an experienced man as a safe pair of hands, or to help the younger ones, is a great option to have & just common sense, even if he rarely plays.
The whole back 4, midfield, plus the keeper & the linesman were at fault for Burnley getting a point last time. I would play Kompany against Ashley Barnes.

Terry was looked 36 twice the other night both on bread n butter plays. That is what happens, It is the same with Madrid's keeper certain aspects start to give, Without the teamwork all players would be doing a Sir Stanley, turning out at 50, MDM and Terry are reliable and have the brain to get bye until pace or power to have the reactions start to drop of as with Casilas. Barca will never start Iniesta or Xavi together, V usas they are slower than they were. Problem for us is MDM is as good if not better than any of our Central defenders, what worried me was how Austin was never tamed, hope Ings is not gonna have the same effect possible Kane, the similar size but faster younger player un-nerve older players, we have all been there as players as you get older

It's one mistake, in a Chelsea side which was/is, panicking. JT is the best defender in the world at set pieces. If Shalke played Chelsea 3 years from now, Nastasic would still be stood both feet on the ground, whilst John Terry won a free header above him.
The reason John Terry has been offered a new contract by Mourinho, is that he understands how Mourinho wants it to work, & more importantly, there are hardly any decent cenral defenders in the world. Same reason Demichelis is at City, Jerome Boateng is at Bayern Munich, Real Madrid regularly use a 21 year old, & Barca use a midfield player next to a liability. Utd have Jones, Smalling, Evans & Roco. That's why Mangala cost a fucking fortune on the hope that he will become decent.
Defending is going down the shitter, because of the last decade's obsession with 'ballplaying' central defenders & fullbacks who are wingers. The back 4 Mancini originally had, Richards, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, is miles better than the one we have now. But we wanted attacking defenders, hence Demi, Zabba Kolarov etc.
Signs are that the next generation, at City anyway, are learning how to defend & also pass the ball etc. In the meantime, Demichelis is the one who is most comfortable with the way City want to play, albeit not being especially good.

I would like us to have gone for eze Garay he would beef up the back 4 plus his mates are here. Top defender.

IWe should let him go at the end of the season.
